Purchased a a/c unit from four seasons comfort back in 2011. American standard 2.5 ton unit.
On a recent schedule maintenance done it was identified the coil was leaking refrigerant.

Based on the cost to replace the coil alone and considering the unit was 8 years old I went ahead and decided to replace the whole unit.

As we take out the old coil we noticed the installed unit was undersized as it was a two ton unit.

Obviously Not happy having to buy a new unit already.

It goes to show getting the best price doesn’t always mean you get the best quality and proper install.

Always believe in "What you pay is what you get".

The expression you are looking for is "you get what you pay for"

MW's only other post last year also happened to be a disagreement with HHI

Seems likely a duplicate account for someone

I posted the original comment to share my experience in case anyone else might have a similar issue down the road. When my unit was originally installed it looked fine to me. I paid and was invoiced for a 2.5 ton system, I would expect that is what would be installed without having to inspect the equipment myself at time of installation. And yes I have verified the coil is rated for 2 ton

I will be reaching out to craig however I doubt he will be reimbursing me for the new a/c I had to pay for.

I'm not sure what the issue is with Andy, he's always been helpful everytime I dealt with him.

Thinking of asking to reimburse for new A/C? Thinking for some credit is different than reimbursement for new A/C alltogether.
