I"m looking to rent a minivan for 9 days to do a roadtrip in the US. We want minivan to bring all our gear. Has anyone got any suggestions on where to rent, other than the mainline car rental companies? Thanks. |

IMO you are better off with one of the large international rental companies. It's not likely that you will save much money or even any money if you go go with a small company or some car lot willing to rent you a van. If you rent from a "normal" car rental company with offices in the USA then if you break down somewhere then you will be looked after. Sometimes grasping for alternatives for the sake of it make no sense. |

A smaller company is also far less likely to cross the border |
