| Post subject: | Every Kilowatt Counts Program |
Has Anyone looked into this yet??? www.everykilowattcounts.com There are a couple of programs I am interested in http://www.everykilowattcounts.com/HTML ... Home.shtml and http://www.everykilowattcounts.com/HTML ... Home.shtml Quote: Be a neighborhood power star with peaksaver Joining the peaksaver program means you can help reduce the demand for electricity in your community. And you'll feel great knowing you're doing something good for the environment. It's no sweat to participate. Just sign up to allow your participating local electricity distribution company (LDC) to cycle down your air conditioning temporarily. It will help reduce the strain on the electricity system on summer days when electricity use is at its peak. Your LDC will only do it when absolutely necessary (usually between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays; never on weekends or holidays). Your LDC will install a device that allows your LDC to send a wireless signal to cycle down your air conditioner. You probably won’t notice the difference in the comfort level or temperature of your home. To be eligible you must be a homeowner of a single-family home with a central cooling system. Your LDC does all the work at no expense to you. In fact, you’ll even receive $25 from the Ontario Power Authority just I called Milton Hydro to inquire about the program and found out that they are indeed doing the Peeksaver, so I signed up. The program is so new, that they only had a meeting about it yesterday and their 1-800 sign up number is not in place...besides I like cool things that "save me money" Here is the other program Quote: If you reduce your electricity use by 10% this summer, your participating local electricity utility, with support from the Ontario Power Authority, will give you a credit on your upcoming electricity bill. No need to sign up, you are automatically enrolled. All you need to do is save electricity. It’s just that simple!
The Summer Savings program runs from July 1, 2007 until August 31, 2007. Just reduce your electricity use by 10% between July 1 and August 31, as compared to the same period last summer*, and you’ll receive an additional 10% credit on your upcoming electricity bill. This is on top of what you’ll save by using less electricity. This one is a no brainer...while on the phone with Milton Hydro I asked if this program will be avaiable for Milton and found out that it will and you don't even have to sign up for it, you just have to be in the house for over a year ie had to have moved in around Last June 2006 in order to qualify.
