I know there's a few Lake O fisherman here so here's a report from my last 3 half day outting out on Lake Ontario. from this past sat, sun & mon

'Scuse my pastie whiteness ;)

What a hot weekend on the water it was

Spent a solid 3 half days on the water with a few buddies and one all by my lonesome! Fished from roughly 5:45 till just around noon or shorltly thereafter all 3 days - ALL OUT OF BRONTE just down the street from the home

Saturday -

We hooked up and had lines down just before 6am in tight just west of Sheel Pier. Not too long after we doubled up with twin kings off the riggers 60 feet down off spoons and boy did we ticke'em off We both probably had a total of 75-85 feet of line out when you factor in the lead off the ball and the line down - WELL they ran us up to 295 feet and our drags on our new CV30's were cinched pretty good on the rigger with the black releases (love'em) I had to net my own while Dave was toe to toe with his

Here's a pic of the pair -

We didn't even get a chance to set back up and organize the boat and we doubled again This went on for about and hour and a half spoons and spinny/flies were going. Black and white were the hot colors oh and some green By 7:30 we were 11/11 the it died. We kept pickin away and ended the day 16/18.

Here's a few pics of the remaining fish from saturday

This bow was huge and I'm ticked I completely forgot to measure it

Sunday -

Went back at it again with Dave same time and place Went back to the same location and within minutes Dave had a solid fish on the copper while we were still settin' up shop By the time he had put the rod down and grabbed his copped he only managed to fight it for a few seconds then she came un-clipped This was the sign of things to come unfortunately for Dave Dropped fish after dropped fish and it was slower than saturday However we did manged to boat a few including Dave

Image

It was tougher fishing but it was somewhat steady - spinnies/flies were working as well as spoons - greens. blue's and whites.

Last fish of the day as we called it a day at 12pm sharp having gon 7,8/14

Monday -

Well,,,have a few days vacation to use up before July 1 or I lose'em so last week I took Friday off - this week it's monday Let me tell you Monday is better than Friday as there's less people taking the day off and especially if you've been on the water for the 2 days prior as the fishing can only get better I fished solo today and launched at the same time and place,,,yup that's right Bronte Man am I whipped doing all that work solo and 3 rd consectuve day in the sun I've probably drank about 12-15 litres of water during the past 3 days

Started off where we had been the past 2 mornings and hooked a few - off the rigger -

Then I worked my way east past Bronte towards Oakville where I spent the rest of the day out and around 250 fow. Wire and riggers were all firing well today with a good combination of blues & greens along with spinnies/flies. And here's the first wire victim -

Then I dropped a few fish - kinda felt like Dave there for a bit - most of which were on wire Hooks were lazer sharp, dipsey release nice and snug, snubber - fine and drag good Guess that's just the way she's meant to go some days. So circled back around and took a few more including this 31" bow off a slider- not sure how she compares to saturday bow though would've been nice to compare

Image

Then I got on to a hot bite and things we're firing left and and center even while I was putting out my dipsey's I got slammed I was also dropping them at this point as fast as I was hookin' em This hot bite happend on blues and purples between 40-55 feet down on 230

That was it for me as I was whipped and still had to get home and get everything organized from the weekend. Total for the day 11/16.

Back to the drawing board for another week then it's one more week of work then I'm on vacation for 8 days during which time I"ll be competing in the Scotty Summar Salmon Tournament in Darlington with my partner & Geoff Hoover (http://www.wildreels.com) then once that's done I head down east :D

Cheers Gman
