I voted sort of. I have a phase one and overall the quality is superior to that of what many of my other friend (who purchased from other builers) have experience. I have had some problemd that are related to workmanship. Mattamy fixed most of them even some after the warranty period. I commend them for doing this. As I upgrated my house I did find a few "Late Friday Afternoon" shortcuts that I had to correct prior to my rennovation. But overall they are a "GOOD" builder. I may even go as far as to say that "Mattamy is the Best of an Average Bunch". Love the community well designed and well executed! |

Compared to our last builder, Mattamy is a dream! The last house had so many problems that we swore we would never buy new again. Once we decided to move, we checked out many Mattamy homes and even knocked on doors of people living in them to get their opinion. Everyone was very happy with them so we decided to go for it. We are in phase one on Trudeau dr - were #36 to move into the middle of nowhere and have loved our house. Yes, there were things that needed to be fixed and yes it took a long time to get some of them done, but I don't think you can expect everything to be perfect in a new home. Most of the things here were minor and easily repaired except for my kitchen, but that was finally resolved when I got a whole new one. The last house had MAJOR problems - the furnaces all had to be torn out and replaced, baseboard heaters added to the main floors, stairs removed because the glue smelled like dog pee, kitchen floors torn up because they were warped, deck stairs removed and replaced because the run was too long, foundations dug up because they forgot to insulate them (our even still had the foundation form attached to it).... I could go on. |

I think they're okay, not excellent, but perfection, or even excellence in anything made these days (i.e. cars, electronics), is next to impossible. Mattamy provides excellent customer service, and even though it's inconvenient to have to miss work for repair people to come in when things should be done right the first time, it's still good to know they care about customers, and that abusive customers haven't jaded their customer service approach. |
