Hey folks, I just wanted to bring to your attention an unsettling situation that happened to my wife yesterday. She was home for lunch at around 11:00 or so when the door bell rang. She answered it not thinking that it was going to be a person soliciting something. Anyways, a male asian was at the front door and started advising her that he is checking all the gas accounts in the area and she must get the gas bill for him to look at.

At this point my quick thinking wife asked who he was and why he needs the gas bill. This is when he started to raise his voice and demand that she get him the bill. Needless to say the conversation ended right there and the door soon closed in this guys face. Apparently he was from a company called "Wholesale Energy" .

But just be aware that there’s a person or a company going around the area, trying to “strong-arm” people into getting their gas bill and potentially signing them up on God-knows what type of contract. I think the fact that my wife answered the door had a lot to do with him being so demanding. If it was a male answering the door things might have went a lot different I suspect.

We’re in the Derry and Armstrong area and our place is newly constructed. I think they might be targeting new homes, which is most of Milton. Just wanted to let everyone know of the type of ridiculous soliciting going on out there.

This happened to me recently as well. My husband had to practically push him off our porch as he was trying to coerce us into signing up! He actually swore at us! I found him to get very angry when we told him that we were not interested....I think these people are in desparate need of sales training!

Nowadays, if I see someone at the door I don't recognize, I just don't answer it. Hey Baily, why you have an x through a picture of your house?

You think this guy was bad, I had a worse situation occur to me.

Back in March a guy came to my house selling a better rate for energy. I said I'm not interested as I'm quite happy with my current provider.
The guy came back the following week, same day same time. I again told him i'm not interested; he told me they have started a Do Not solicit service all they need is my name and I'll be put on a list of clients not to contact.

Me being stupid gave the guy my first & last name. That's it; I gave no other info.

In August I received a letter from my current provider indicating that as of Sept 1st and as per my instruction I am being switched energy providers. I was livid; I called my current provider and complained to them; I also called the other company and also complained.

I ended up writing a letter to the executive teams of both companies. Basically in the end I got apology letters from both.

csb, because I'm not too happy with the builder right now.
