you can check if it's the furnace by pulling out the fuse on the inside panel. |

Ours just did the exact same thing last week and our repair person told us it was a stuck circuit. He basically "unstuck" it in the box outside beside the a/c. Sorry I'm not much more help, but my husband was the one that took care of it and I just overheard the conversation.... |

some of the new thermostats wait up to 5 minutes for signals to protect the A/C. I assume you waited 5 min at least? If it is the outside circuit, just open the box on the wall of your house outside. There should be 2 thick cables going there. Once it is open, just pull out the circuit. Wait a minute, then plug it back in. You do not really need to turn off your power to the A/C but if you want to just flip the breaker for it then reseat it. Matt |

Honestly - we have had our A/C Unit since June & we have had constant problems - and I am just about to take our AC guys to Small Claims Court-!! I have had technicians at my house 5-6 times over the summer & we are tired of our A/C unit not working-- we had it installed by someone other than the builder (we are in 15A) as well and I am so upset that we didnt spend teh extra $$ to go through Mattamy !! Anyways - -I think if your house has a High Efficiency Furnace-- there is a problem with the A/C units being installed a lot of companies do not know how to instal AC units to the high eff furnace-- anyways-- i hope you dont go through what we have gone through! |

Just out of curiousity Valerie and others who did you go with? We also have a high velocity furnace and find that the house does not cool down quick enough. A lot of condensation on the duct (they had to come back and wrap the pipe which helped). I also think that is the lack of knowledge with this new furnace system. We by the way went with Convertible Air. |

LG -- honeslty - we have no idea their technicians have come here 5 times & it still often turns off & doensnt come on for days are which point we call them!! We dont know what the problem was but all the neighbours who I have talked to used Applewood and have had no problems with their AC unit! |

and LG - its not about saving money on the installation Mattamy wanted $3,500 for Applewood to install the unit for us -- why would anyone pay that when you can get an AC unit for $2000 to $2,500 (for my house anyways) |

LG - since you are in the industry what is the cost difference between a normal coil and a coill used for a high efficiency furnace/?? |
