Can anybody recommend a good radio station with a decent morning show....I need some serious entertainment to keep me in good spirits instead of pondering why they have lanes blocked off during morning rush hour with nobody working there. |

Depends on your political views. I like AM640's John Oakley show. It is right-wing, conservative radio that some Liberals may not like. The Edge 102.1 morning show is always edgey and sometimes raunchy. Tune in to them every Wed. at 8AM; they have an interesting segment called Wha Happened? that I always like listening to. |

Ummmm, I'd have to kindly disagree with you Ezra, it's gonna be a traffic nightmare when they close Derry even though James Snow will be fully operational....however I too like John Oakley in the morning so that'll ease the stress a little. |

It will be crazy when they close Derry! Having JSP opened will not make any difference-- Derry is the main east -- west road in and out of Milton. JSP runs north and south how will that help?? |

I don't think the town does any thinking into alternate driving routes! They sure didn't when they closed 4th line awhile back. There seems to be very little done on the planning end of road construction in this town. |

So, the derry road closure is going ahead next summer? We couldn't find a less lazier contractor to keep the road opened the whole time? Isn't it normal to just have occasional weekend road closures for that kind of construction instead of a whopping 4 months? |

Seems like the region and some people on here are in denial about the headaches that will come with the closing of Derry. Wouldn't it be nice if we could withhold paying our property taxes when bone-headed decisions are made like this? That'd be the only way the morons in office would listen to us. Oh well, I'll just have to leave for work a lot earlier in the morning when the time comes. |

Wow...so that traffic today is 'normal'??? I usually leave at 6 am but today left at 7:30 and WOW...was I amazed at the traffic on JSP. It took me 40 minutes to get from Derry to the 401!!! I thought there must have been an accident or something....although I didn't see anything. [quote="AlphaMale"]Depends on your political views. I like AM640's John Oakley show. I don't know how anyone can listen to terrestrial radio in traffic. Before I got satellite radio (Sirius) I would be an hair's width from road rage every 10 minutes as I had to put up with annoying commercials and/or annoying station self-promotion (HELLO I'M ALREADY LISTENING TO YOUR STATION!!). Once I got satellite though ... I can sit in the worst of traffic and be at peace with either good COMMERCIAL FREE tunes, or uncensored talk radio. There is always something to listen to! No more bouncing between 5 radio stations and not wanting to listen to a single one before getting fed up and shutting the radio off and driving to the sound of my engine (or the HUGE diesel truck engines right outside my window). Seriously though. If you are driving for me then 20 minutes, get satellite radio. The monthly fee is nothing compared to what you pay for cable/satellite TV, and that's pretty much what it is comparable to. Imagine if you only had bunny ears for watching TV? That's what it's like in a car without satellite radio. I dunno about you, but there is something calming about hearing uncensored NiN - Closer at 8:30 AM while stuck in traffic. |

My husband actually enjoys his commute now that he can listen to Howard Stern on the Sirius. That thing is worth every penny just for calming the road rage. (although technically we won ours and haven't actually paid anything for it - but once our free year is up we'll pay whatever they want, frankly). |

Sirius Satilite is the BEST investment you'll ever make for morning and evening commutes. It's about $100 for the radio, and about $175 for a two year contract. When I was communting 45mins a day it was a blessing for my sanity.. And i am a Howard Stern Fan as well. check out http://satellite-radio-source.ca/store/catalog/ they have the best deals, and based in Streetsville |

I did that for a while too, but the problem I had with it was that I never got to hear any *new* music. It was always music I already knew and like. And even with a full MP3 CD the songs would get stale after a month or so. Also, you don't get any talk radio ... unless you are burning that too ... |
