Just curious who else bought on Cahoun Terrace, Phase 14F this past weekend. We bought lot 17 and purchased a Hazelnut model.

It was great meeting some of our future neighbours when we "camped" out in front of the sales office. Wondering if any are on this forum or if anyone else who we didn't get to meet posts on here.

Awesome...I'm sure we'll see you guys when you start going to check out progress on your lot/house. What's your hubby's name again? Which house/elevation did you end up going with? Congrats again and keep in touch.

Hi Guys

We drove by yesterday and nothing has changed. =( They probably won't start digging until next year! I can't wait....Oct 2010 seems toooo far away.

Keep in touch everyone!

Hi Amanda

Didn't they say (at the sales office when we bought) that you'd get your first appointment to chose brick 6-8 months before closing? I'm assuming the first appointment would be to chose brick, but I could be wrong, either way, I would think that it would be sometime early next year. The structural will probably be soon after the brick and then about 4 months prior to close, you'll have your design appointment. They probably don't have price packages for our phase yet, but if you check out some of the existing threads you may be able to get a rough idea as to how much things cost in your model or a similar mode. When do you guys close?

Ivana

I would say it's probably a little too early...I know it's hard to be patient, I can't wait for our appt. either. We close Oct. 21st.

Hi Crystal and Sam

I remember you and your hubby and of course son. We talked about potty training...lol! I got my daughter the Elmo DVD and although she's not all that into it, I'm glad to report that we're almost potty trained!

Glad you found the forum...it was nice to meet you guys. It's good to know there will be playmates for kids on the street. How are you doing otherwise...your hubby said you were due with #2 early next year. Congrats!

Anyway, take care and keep in touch!

Ivana

Mandy

As per my lawyer, the new levy/cost that Mattamy is trying to push down to the buuer has been worked into the purchase price after July 15th, therefore there should be no additional cost upon closing.

Yeah...we noticed the name change yesterday when we drove down to the site.

Take care,
Ivana

Hi gang,

I just found this site this evening ! It's so exciting to reconnect with all our Cahoun neighbours !
We bought lot #18 & were 3rd in line to choose our home.
I was in the Mattamy sales office a couple of weeks ago & heard that they are revising the exterior finishes & to expect to a call in the new year.
We go to the site every wknd & the street is Cahoun Terrace.
They have almost levelled the dirt hill now & have planted lots of trees & shrubs ! It is going to be a beautiful, private street !
We can't wait !

Sarah & Charles

Hi Sarah & Charles

We're next door neighbours (lot #17)! We totally remember you guys. Nice that you have found the site and we can keep in touch. Thanks for the update on the exterior finishes.

Just to let you know...I called the engineering dept. from the town and the preliminary drawings (yet to be approved) are showing that there will be no sidewalk on our side of the street. We will have parking permitted on our side of the street and a buffer and walkway behind us. Our lot does not have a transformer (close by in the greenspace but not on our property), cable pedestal or sewer on it so we're thrilled as that's something you always take a gamble with! Anyway, welcome to the site..can't wait for more updates on what's going on with our street and what everyone is thinking of doing in terms of upgrades!

Crystal & Sam...glad you found us...again! Keep in touch!

Talk to you later guys!

Ivana

Hi Ivana,

Yes, I remember you too !!!
Have you seen the wonderful planting & landscaping they have done behind our homes ?!
We were a little disappointed that they removed the pond but they have planted like crazy & it looks amazing !
Hopefully you will have your kitchen eating area on the left side & you can really enjoy the scenery !!!

Thanks for the update re the sidewalk & utilities. We were expecting the sidewalk so that's a great bonus.
I hope the walkway in the back is just gravel & not paved with lighting but we'll have to see.

Look forward to chatting & keep in touch everyone :D

s

Sarah

I'm pretty sure it'll be a paved sidewalk behind us...sort of like the ones that are already established in other neighbourhoods that back onto greenspace. I don't think it'll be too bad!

Our kitchen will actually back on the greenery from the right side if you're looking at the front of the house, , but that's ok, as we have some windows on the side of the house so at least we'll get alot of light in from the left since there isn't anyone beside us!

What upgrades are you guys thinking of getting?

We are so thrilled we have the 9 foot ceilings come standard so we don't have to do those, although we're considering doing them on the second floor. Some of the other items on our dream list are.

- 8 ft. doors on the main floor.
- French door in the study
- Hardwood stairs (white risers, dark treads with square white pickets and two newell posts)
- Hardwood floor on the main floor and maybe on the top landing
- Upgrade to 3 baths upstairs
- Upgrade main tile
- Kitchen upgrades including cabinets and a quartz counter
- Maybe a glass shower, but I doubt it
- Pot lights and smooth ceilings on the main floor
- Extra outlets and lights
- Conduit from basement to attic
- and I'm sure we'll think of lots more, but we'll obviously have to revise our list and come up with musts!

Anyway, enough of my rambling...lol!

Take care,
Ivana

And yes....the landscaping is awesome...saw it last weekend!
