For those who missed Mattamy U last night...here's a pretty good synopsis...

Quote:
Mattamy U was interesting. They touched on a lot of different things such as the building process, some of the products used (spray foam, kiln dried timber...), features of the local area (school, greenspace...), PDI, warrenty, closing info and contact info. They had a slideshow which they said they would email out so you don't have to take notes. Members of the customer service and build team were there to answer any questions (they were very helpful). Also, if you don't already know, you can find out where the sidewalks, fire hydrants and mailboxes are as well as what type of tree will be planted on your front yard. Good experience.

It was great to meet all the September/October closings on our street. Cathy, had we known better, we would have put the 2 Monaghan tables together and we could have talked more!

I was thrilled to find out we get 2 trees! I already knew about the sidewalk, mailbox and fire hydrant. I'm glad I went for sure. :D

Our street is really coming along! On the one side, brick is getting laid and on the other, foundations are getting poured!

Is everyone satisfied so far?

I went in my house today and there was a bunch of workers sitting around smoking... I wasn't too happy about that, but I take it there's not much I can do about it?

Hey Christy,

In regards to what you saw at your house with the workers smoking.... a few weeks back Chris and I went into our house and the guy was just finishing putting in our white kitchen cabinets and he was sitting on a stool having a smoke and butting his ashes on our kitchen floor tile. Our entire house was pretty much finished and he was doing this with no windows or doors open. We were kind of angry about this but there is nothing we could do.

To be honest with you with our last house we found condoms on our kitchen counter top and poop in our neighbours house. Totally discusting behaviour.

Carlee, are you serious??? WTF!!!!

That is utterly unacceptable, I would lose it. I wouldn't even expect that kind of nastiness from a troll.

Is there no one you could make a complaint to about this? That is absolutely sick!

Maybe once the house is yours and finished, you could complain about it- best to have photos etc if you find something there without a worker present- wouldn't suggest taking photos of the guys misbehaving. But I'd be very concerned about what else they might do if you were to complain before you get possession...

This is a classic case of 'Id rather not know'...lol Like the time when I was a kid and I ate a delicious cream filled donut and once I was done my mom told me it was covered in ants. Thanks mom. (It was dark) lol

Hey Richard,

Went by yesterday, still no stucco on your house.

I didn't take pics as there was no difference on the exterior. Coming along nicely though.

We should have a street party this summer!!

When we move in sometime this summer... are we going to have grass already in the backyard? I assume the front wont for several months, but what about the back? How does it work?
