Hi Cookiepaws,
You must have good negotiation skills! Well done. Persevere!

Did they place the 3pc rough-in, in the wrong place and therefore agreed to move it due to their mistake at no cost? Hope so.

Your home is coming along nicely. Of course, I am anxious to see how the P71 espresso cabinet looks...... from afar

Money has nothing to do with it. When you fall and hurt yourself and try to sue mattamy, it will be your money that is paying their lawyers. Anyway, its the law. The OHSA & Regulations dictates what they are suppose to do. Last I checked, the security guard is not a mattamy employee, he doesn't give a crap what you do.

Hey, I'm just as guilty as the next guy, I want to se my house to as it gets built, but Mattamy has no obligation to let anyone on site during or after working hours. Actually, its in their best interest leagally.

Then seems like you are saying the same thing as I am saying. Legally they have that right, but we both have broken that right and we really want to see our place. I just hope that people that enter at their own risk and get hurt aren't ignorant and try to sue, because I know I won't. BUT, it's inconsistent when some security guards let you by and some don't. I did say earlier "i get it", but there needs to be some sorty of consistency.

Agreed!

Yes, it is in there best interest legally. Also, they can keep you out and unable to photo the crappy concrete work before it is covered up. LOL

lol. anyone who falls and then tries to sue mattamy is a little slow in the head anyways. mattamy has covered their ass right left and center!

we just want to see our houses being built, and we are being pretty selfish about it! i think everyone has to think of the company too. sure we are paying them tones of money, but when you go and buy a tv for 3 g's you dont watch them build it, box it, or ship it. even a car for example... you wait a week to get it after you buy it, but do you go sit in the back of the shop and watch it being upgraded and prepared out of pure excitement? lol... NOOOO. these workers are professionals. im sure they know a hell of a lot more about a houses then we all think we do :P.

Its not just people suing mattamy, its the ministry of labour that will come down hard on mattamy and raise their WSIB premiums skyhigh if someone gets hurt on their site which will result in higher costs to you plus a complete review of their safety policy and protocols. Its amazing that more people have not got hurt while walking around construction sites.

I work in the industry, and you cannot step foot on our site w/o proper documentation, safety gear or orientation and that includes everyone from the company CEO to the cleaner.

I am on lot 115 and closing (delayed) end of October 2009. Does anyone selected their exterior package for around this closing? We already finished our structural appointment and our design appointment is next week.

we close in Feb 2010 (delayed from Nov 2009), and selected our brick 2 weeks ago. I would call if you haven't yet.

I called at sales center and she told me it will be sometime after 3 weeks.
We close November 2009 and chose our exterior package close to three months ago. Give Andrea a call at the Sales Center 905-875-2692
She'll give you a map with all the houses with your brick selections; it'll enable you to have a better idea of how everything looks instead of trying to chose from the color boards.
Enjoy!
Thanks, I think it is a good idea to have a bigger picture

Guys, I need your help to decide about Kitchen Counter Top. Our design consultant said the granite is on sale right now - $3616 for our kitchen with upgraded under mount sink and faucet. Also it has roman ogee edge. Do not know if this will be much cheaper after closing. If we are not doing granite now, we may not do for next couple of years. Please provide your input as I have only few days grace period to change my upgrade contract. Thanks
