Guys, I need your help to decide about Kitchen Counter Top. Our design consultant said the granite is on sale right now - $3616 for our kitchen with upgraded under mount sink and faucet. Also it has roman ogee edge. Do not know if this will be much cheaper after closing. If we are not doing granite now, we may not do for next couple of years. Please provide your input as I have only few days grace period to change my upgrade contract. Thanks

From what I understand according to previous posters, neighbors & friends it is cheaper to get the granite through Mattamy.

We were adamant that we would not be doing this upgrade through Mattamy but the price has gone down for the granite/quartz and it is much more affordable than it used to be. The price also now includes the undermount sink which up to a year ago or less Mattamy was charging over 1300 dollars for ON TOP of the price for the quartz/granite. So we did some research and priced it out and it is actually quite comparable so we went with Mattamy instead of after market.

WHAT?! Really?

Buttafly, did you get a new price for the ensuite quartz and did it also include the undermount sinks? We are getting the ensuite quartz and it's on our planned list for our colour appt in June at $1636 ... and that is on top of the undermount vanity sinks that we ordered with our structurals.

Do you know if those prices are changing as well? Thanks!!

Yes, please let me know if you guys are aware of any price drop with the countertops. We have our appt on June 10th, and up to now, are not aware of any price drop.. :(

The price has dropped from previous phases busguy. Perhaps a better way to phrase it would be that Mattamy is now incorporating the cost of the undermount sink in the price of the countertop instead of charging you additionally for that so you save over 1300 dollars. Hope that makes sense.

everlasting, cookiepaws, and Don & Carmen,

How did your frame walk go? Anything odd or unacceptable?

Our framewalk went well, Fabio took us around and went through all the changes that we made (which weren't many) but he was very thorough.
After the walkthrough, we were permitted to stay and take pictures. He also went through what the next steps are - insulation, inspection, drywall then all the interior stuff.

Went very well and it was great to see the neighbourhood starting to come together.

glad to hear everything is going well for everyone, our framewalk also went well. We didn't have any insulation so we focused on taking pictures of where lines were run, vent and light switch locations...

It should be pretty soon for your framewalk. Not sure what order your house was done in but you should have all: plumbing and electrical completed before they call. You'll get 1-2 days notice, so it could be this week if your house is almost there.

Hi everyone,
So, after much driving around we decided on package vs15 for our brick.

I swear the people living on the streets were going to call the cops. We went around and around for at least 1 hour. And i noticed about 1/2 into it, the owners of the particular houses we were looking at (coincidentely) ended up on their porches.

Talk about feeling weird

i found this too. lol. i dont understand. they all went through the same steps as us!!! lol. (well, unless they were one of the first couple phases, where they only went off the boards cause nothing was built yet).

That's true.. we were there for our Brick selection this weekend and it was so nice weather that all the house that we wanted to look at, they all are either in their garage or on their porch. It is so weird stopping at their door step and look their house in from of them... but the one we like, we step out from the car and talk to the owner that we are looking for the same brick and that is the only reason we are observing your house so closely :) It was the awkward feeling tho - We choose VS-12
