What is going on with ours I have not been out there in a while. Absolutely no time to make the trip.

Hi Laura,

Your house is now fully framed too. If I remember correctly, I think you also have your windows now and they've stated to put your shingles. The homes opposite us (the 50 footers) have also come up and are fully framed. I'm guessing that we'll start to see bricks this coming week.

Have any of you been called for your framewalks yet? Presumably sometime in the next week or so.

Nik

Hi Springberry,

No worries....I was just curious cuz our top choice is very similar to your's (ie. with the red brick and lighter/dark tones scattered throughout)....everything definitely looks different on a big scale! Anyhow, I guess we'll just have to wait and see....and hope to be pleasantly surprised?!? :)

I'm guessing we'll have grass mid-to-late summer?

grass is usually installed May or Oct. I assume if we dont have it when we move in or shortly thereafter then we will in the fall.

Makes sense!

Are any of you folks planning to get one of those heavy rollers to level off the soil before they lay the sod down?

Shouldn't the sod guys take care of that?

Anyone been to the site lately? We haven't gone for the last week or so....wondering if they've started laying bricks on our side of the street? We're planning to go there this weekend.

Thanks,

Nik

We were there yesterday! What a mess!! Our house is being bricked. I do not think that yours has been started yet. Getting exciting to see it all put together. I believe our house was locked though. It was too muddy to get in but all the doors we closed.

We drove by yesterday. Still no bricks on our house (nor on pallets near the curbside). Presumably later this week. Laura, your bricks look really good! Hopefully they'll re-open the doors for you once they're done the brick laying and removed the scafolding so that you can get back in.

cant wait to see it. Just an FYI Nik, we delayed our closing to May 27th due to the sale of our current house.

Hi Springberry....they've started the bricks on our house and it looks like we have the same colour as your's...it's called "Old Janeston" and it was our first pick :D

Hi Laura....although our closing is on May 12th, we too aren't planning to physically move in until the end of the month when our current lease expires. We'll be doing our truckload move on Sat, May 28th. We didn't want to spend the May 2-4 long weekend with the move, as it's our first year wedding anniverary then!

Hey there,

Has anyone got quotes on their house insurance. RBC is quoting me approx $1100 a year....seems extremely high to me.

Laura
