In regards to both the home inspector posts:

Honestly, I have nothing really to say. My post in regards to my PDI was for my neighbors moving into the area, not for inspectors to jump at the situation and say they can do it better and promote themselves.

Carol, I wasnt putting you down and I do realize what you helped us with on the date of our PDI. The arguing back and forth should have been done away from the eyes of the homeowner, same goes strongly for the Mattamy Rep.

Thats pretty much it.

Any other comments regarding my PDI will be ignored by me because today is the day I get my keys and Im not going to dawn on a past experience to ruin it. Thank you. :D (ie: writing back about this issue is pointless because Im not going to answer it)

- sorry to all of my neighbors about this and my rude attitude back to it. im not usually like this :P

Thanks Lot65Vista! We are SO excited. We have been going to the site every single day since last week  as of last night our second floor was up too! Man do they ever move fast....

Sidenote! Is everyone going to the next Mattamy U session scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd? I heard from Amanda Ayles that the invites were in the mail last week and we should all be getting them any day now. Anyone else going? It will be great to meet everyone. :D

What's important here, is that others know that the PDI can be productive and stress free even when a Home Inspector attends the PDI. Christine and Jennifer, who conduct many PDI's for Mattamy are easy to work with and normally respond in a positive manner to issues that are brought to their attention that are relevant to the PDI.

Question for those who have already moved in...what time did you get your keys? Did they let you know ahead of time what time to expect them? Thanks in advance.

56 days to go...*tick* *tock* *tick* *tock*

SDF,

From what our lawyer told us when we met with him, it really depends when the property is registered. Usually, once the property has been registered (click of a button) then the keys can be released. Your lawyer should call you once that has been done. We were advised that it is usually in the afternoon, we received a call from our lawyer just a bit after noon on our closing telling us that we can pick up the keys.

I got to the office just a little before 2pm and signed for the keys, however the cleaners had not cleaned the house yet and there were some guys in the house finishing on the last minute stuff. It probably would have been better for us to get the keys a bit later so that we weren't waiting around for people to clear out of our house.

Hope that info helps.

And now you have your roofing started! We drove by last night before it got too dark. We also notice our first floor wood is on the flatbed, so we're getting excited too!

We should be at Mattamy U as well, hope to see everyone there!

Cristina & Greg.

Well the invite says "meet, greet and learn" From my understanding you basically meet the team of people that will be helping to build your home, they go through the whole home buliding process with you and you get to meet your new neighbours and have some munchies.

Cristina & Greg you have 3/4 of a first floor now!! We went by the site again tonight- I think we're addicted! lol and I was pleasantly surprised to see that more than half of your first floor is up and they are also working on the other other houses next door to you as well. House is looking good! :D
