We went to the dc again today and they still have not chosen the suppliers for the spirit homes. The rumour is Frendel for the cabinets, but we were a little disappointed to learn that they had discountinued some of their colour selections (of course what we liked!). Anyway, hopefully they will decide soon since it will probably take us a good year to choose everything.

Anybody know how the design centre process works? When are you expected to pay for the upgrades, at the DC appointment or around closing time?

You will do your selection about 6 or 7 months before closing, or thats how it was our first time round. You will be expected to pay 35% of the total, the rest I believe you can add on your mortgage, if you dont add it I think you pay all up front. I'm not sure some of that has changed since I bought 5 years ago. But I know it's 35% for sure.

Especially the Espresso or whatever the super dark wood is ugh, guess I wont hit the DC till they have it all finalized so I'm not disappointed. BTW I'm a spirit owner but over on Treend
