Hey Guys

It was nice to see you all at the DC! Ivana we missed you there! we have a quick question..Are you guys paying for your upgrades upfront or adding them to the mortgage? we are not sure what we should do!

And did you guys notice that our contract says that we get $283 in free upgrades? If you didnt be sure to scope it out!

Thanks
Rania and Sanjay

Hi Rania & Sanjay,

It was great to see you guys too !
It's going to be a beautful street with great neighbours :D

When we purchased we chose some upgrades ie. alternate kitchen & rough in the bsmnt for future wshrm. I think we got 10% credit of this amount towards upgrades. We have aprox $150. Is this what you mean ?! If there is another $200+ we'll take it !!!
Let us know.

We havent yet decided if we will pay or add to the mortgage. If you have the $$$ it makes sense to pay otherwise you will be adding interest to the upgrades too.

Have a wonderful holiday season & we are looking forward to 2010 !!!

Sarah & Charles

Hi Guys!!!

Crazy how we all decided to go to the DC on the same day, same time!

Rania it is best if you have the $$ to pay the upgrades up front, like Sarah said, costs you more later b/c of the interest if its on your mortgage.
I still have to look into that extra $$ for upgrades but when we bought we also upgraded our shower to a super shower and relocated laundry so I think they took some $$ off then. Did you guys do any structural upgrades when you bought?

Amanda

Happy holidays!!

We are going by this weekend to check things out.

Our house is going up in another phase, so we are going to check it out. Drywall is up, so we can see how it looks :)

Just so you know, Sundays they have a security person & street access is blocked off.
Best to go on Saturday while the workers are there or park on Snider Terrace & walk from the back onto our street.
Good Luck !!!

That's too bad that we missed everyone at the DC...we're dying to check it out and even with living across the street from it, somehow we haven't been able to make it over there. I really want to see what upgrade level are the kitchen cabinets I'm in love with and also our main floor tile.

We're going to be paying for our upgrades in full, but we're in a slightly different situation as we already sold our home and are living with family so our equity is now sitting in a high interest savings account from which we'll dip into to cover upgrades...for us it's better to lower the principal borrowing amount and avoid paying interest on upgrades.
We've gone through our upgrade book and have figured out our upgrades for the most part...there are a few items we don't see eye to eye and a few that are on our wish list that we may not end up going with! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone...it will definitely be an exciting year to come!

Hey guys!

So Zeus and I had our 1st apt. today with Patrizia. It went well.... took about 2hrs. Be aware prices may change so make sure to bring your design package. We were told that the building will probably start late Feb. to early March :)
If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Happy New Year everyone !

Thanks for the update Amanda & glad all went well for your appt.

We have our appt late next week. It will be an expensive day

You mentioned a price change ... were some prices higher at the DC ?!

Feb/March seems early, when we bought Nick said our construction will start in June. Maybe they are early ?!
We dont mind though. It will be a fun Spring/Summer.

Ivana, hope you've had a chance to get to the DC. There is lots to see & choose. It's fun too, good luck !

Hi Sarah,

Yes, the mircowave hood fan was $814.00 in our book and when she added it to our list on her computer she said $964.00 but b/c we had our book she photocopied the price and could honour it for us. Every little bit helps LOL.
We were shocked at all the added options she also mentioned that were not in the book... She does give you a "wish list" of all the things you want and then 10mins to re-look at it and add/delete items on it. Gives you time to privately discuss things you didn't know about which is helpful :)
We are hoping they start in late March, at least the ground won't be as hard and wet, but the earlier the better... i'm praying for no delay :)

Amanda
