Hi totalpkg

Hope I'm not yet late, can you please include me on your list to order drainvac.

1 unit.

Drainvac - 500 air watts - 2PR9923-C - 9 gal/41L capacity, 73 db - $394.25
Hose cover - $31.35
Car kit - 30' crushproof hose, 3 piece kit, wall mount for hose - $44.65

I been looking for this for 2 months now and the only option I have is to go to US and by it there.

hey Khal,

Picket fences are the best in my opinion. Frank is very professional and costs are competitive.

Anyone know when grading is scheduled to be approved.

How do we find out when the grading is approved?

Hey Coombsters

It's been pretty quiet here on the forms ...

Anyone interested in another street BBQ sometime ?

Also, does anyone want to talk fences ?

Any update on 2nd coat for the driveway ?

That sounds like a great idea. Maybe the weekend before the Civic holiday weekend?

I spoke with our new customer care rep (Chris) and he said that all the lots on Coombs have been certified so we are free to put up fences. He also stated that the second coat of asphalt will be done at the end of the summer.

What about to call Picket fence and invite them for the FREE on site Quotation? Do you know any street where they did the job?

I was going to call Picket Fence this week, just haven't gotten around to it.

I think it would be good to get him out to give a quick assessment and rough quote, then we can provide the information to all the neighbours and see who is interested, and then we can get Picket Fence back to give everyone and accurate individual quote, since some yards may be slightly different then others given that our lots size's aren't all the same, some people may want 2 doors, etc.

I went with Frank from Picket Fence a few years ago, excellent job, very professional, as well as competitive prices. We meet with 4 difference fence builders, originally went with a cheap one, he took our deposits and ran, so then we ended up going with someone that we can trust, and that has a lot of experience in the neighbourhood.

Gino was going to call Security Fence as well to get a quote.

It's great, Keri. Go ahead and call them so we'll know what to expect. Somebody has to start :) Let us know, please, when they schedule to come... In case we're at home we can talk to them. There are different fences ( board overlap or board on board...), different posts , so they can estimate some variations and we'll choose which one is more suitable for us. I guess we have to go with 6x6 posts, and it's important to ask if they pack them into cement as I saw some companies put them into dirt only ( not stable at all). I'm cautious with the down-payment now as we were cheated too by the interlocking company in Mississauga and by the Hardwood from Brampton...
We need to ask if they follow the proper standarts :
-1/3 of their total length buried in the ground. This is especially important on corner posts and any posts that will carry heavy weight or withstand high wind pressure.
-pack the posts with concrete. Place two or three shovels full of gravel in the bottom of each hole before the post is placed into position.
-Brace each post with stakes after it is properly aligned. Keep the stakes in position until the concrete (if used) has thoroughly set.
-to help eliminate water standing at the post base slope the concrete slightly away from the post and round it off with a trowel. Tamp the concrete lightly to eliminate any air bubbles left in the mixture that can act as water pockets.

Send me an e-mail to r.poweska@gmail.com and I can send you some pictures of the work he did a few years ago for us

to your points that you mentioned
1 - They dig 4ft. deep to ensure the post is below the frost line most importantly so that the fence post don't get uprooted
2 - they only use 6x6 posts, he won't cheap out on 4x4 because they will warp and twist
3 - fence style - he will come to each house and do an individual quote, he doesn't go be blocks of houses like others may
4 - i know they used concrete for ours, but I don't remember if they rounded then tamped the top of the concrete

Once I hear back from him, I'll post a note here letting you know when he will be coming by, and he can answer any questions as well

Anybody on the north side interested in a fence too? Our properties are approved as well, so technically nothing can stop us. Our Intracorp neighbours could do their back fence with us now and wait until their grading gets approved and finish off with their left and right. It's worth opening the discussion...

Hey Everyone,

I spoke with Frank from Picket Fence, he will be coming down on Thursday July 26th this week at 6pm to meet us and discuss fence options and pricing.

It might be best to gather in the backyards and chat around that time. Feel free to pass along the message to your neighbours and hopefully get as many people out as possible to have a discussion with Frank.

My backyard is on the inner Coombs court, north side, 3rd house away from Savoline (BBQ and Beige/Light Green umbrella on the deck)
