I think we're finally settled on our kitchen, we've flip flopped on our ensuite bathroom a couple of times now...

Eventually it'll all come together.

Are you thinking hardwood for your stairs? We were originally but we might stick with the carpet now.

i am thinking it yes. i was orginally going to go with a cherry stain but since my kitchen is going to be wenge, i might be considering something darker - but i don't want too dark cause it will make it all look smaller..... doing the living/dining room in laminate after closing and have to co-ordinate all my woods..... thank goodness for time.... and i have been flip flopping on my main bath upstairs - twice now... i can see a third coming....

That's part of the reason we decided to go with the carpet for now, we're doing wenge in our kitchen and a darker counter so we thought visually it might be too much dark wood. Especially if we end up doing hardwood in the dining and living rooms after we close.

We're still flipping on the bathroom too, hopefully we'll figure it out soon!

Armsden -

When are you booked for the DC? We're booked for May 27 with Kristen Janzen. I've actually been e-mailing back and forth with her a couple of times, very helpful so far.

Any decisions on your stairs?

Hi Lisa & Paul,

Nice to see another Cavanagh neighbour on here :D

No kids for us (yet)

Kitchen was a tough pick for us too, it really becomes one of the big focal points of the house with open concept so we want to make sure we're happy.

So the design appointment is done and i can't go back. i am really happy with my choices :D

with the appointments coming along so quickly, someone out there was first on our 'block' and probably was able to pick the brick... anyway of finding that out?

11 months and counting!!! all i have to do is choose my appliances and i have sooo much time i will get just what i want

come on cavanaugh!!!

I'm going next Friday, will see if they've said what the brick is going be. Does someone actually get to pick? I thought Mattamy controlled that with the towns.

We shall see.

Getting excited!

What colour did you end up going for on your stairs??

i thought that the first person to buy on a block was able to choose the brick... i could be wrong....

i ended up going hardwood oak in the vienna stain... cannot wait to see it when it comes together!!! :D :D :D our main tile is the arizona noce too i believe. really sharp together... getting closer!! now i just have to find appliances ... lots of time for that :)

That'll look great! We're doing our last trip to the DC tonight before our appointment, just the main washroom to finish up. I think we were looking at a similar colour tile to yours for downstairs, we're going with carpeted stairs so I might go a little bit darker on the tile so there's a bit more punch to the colours.

If you find a good deal on appliances let us know! We're thinking we'll go sometime in March/April. That said, apparently most places will honour their sale prices if they're lower than what you paid if you go back after your purchase with a flyer and they'll credit you. Always lots to think about.

If it stops raining I think we're going to drive by tonight and see what things look like. I'll take a picture if there's anything!

I have Kristen as well! I'm glad to hear she is awesome because I'm a little nervous. I am doing this all myself and I don't know much about designing.
I am a little indecisive about some of my options. I keep changing my mind on all my bathrooms and my cabinets. Lol
My closing date is March 29th
