| Post subject: | Backsplash Ideas |
Hi there, I was initially interested in doing my backsplash through Mattamy but the problem is I cannot find anything to match the granite that I have chosen. I am now confused and thinking of doing only the granite with Mattamy and doing the backsplash elsewhere. I was wondering if anyone else is is going through this (or been through this) and if you would like to share any ideas?

Do the backsplash yourself after. You will save yourself a LOT of money compared to what Mattamy will charge you. From what I remember in the Design Centre they will charge around $1500. You can buy the tile and have it installed for under 600 easily (depending on what tile you get of course). |

Agreed. It's a lot easier than you think. I did mine with no prior experience and it turned out great...just give yourself enough time. |

+1 do it yourself. I did minethis past spring and it was fun and a great learning experience. |

I did it through John @ Universal Tiles. He did amazing job. His number is (416) 706-5474. I bought tiles from Italtiles in Mississauga. Tileshoppe in Mississauga is also good. Total square feet: 26. Total cost including grout, tiles and contractor (Universal) : $525 incl taxes. No comparison with Mattamy! Tile is made of glass and stone strips. I got it on sale @$8.69 per square feet. |

TUBS is having a super sale with regards to glass backsplash tiles, regular price $15 a sf marked down to $2.99 a sf. I was at one of their stores a few days ago and they have some really nice styles, worth a look. http://www.tubs.com/ |
