The Maple Leafs traded an unsigned draft pick to the Blackhawks for a 2nd rounder with similarities to Darcy Tucker

http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/nh ... -pick?bn=1

And exchange their 5th rounder for Brown from the Ducks

Sounds like a good pick-up. Burke making chicken salad out of chicken turd. But man, Kessel better score 50 next year to ease the pain of watching the Bruins use our picks. :x

Or, you could look at the 1/2 full cup and say that last year we secured a bird in the hand rather than 10 on the tree. What if the Leafs had made it right in the middle? That was a deal done prior to the start of a failed season. No one on earth would have known that the Leafs would be in a position to pick 2nd this year.

Passing on Kovalchuk, could the Leafs finally trade Kaberle for Marc Savard and a prospect?

Looks good to me! Only time will tell.
