Thank you big 3 for ruining the NBA. There really is no point to watching. Maybe the Lakers and Boston have a good chance against them. Orlando as well. All the other teams might as well fold...Go Leafs go... |

Yeah think I'm pretty much done with the NBA. That hole ESPN thing was a bloody joke. Can someone tell me how Miami affords this? That's like over 60 million for just three guys. I assume they are going to be paying big time luxury tax??? Though I suppose those three guys are the team. How would you like to be a teammate of these three? Get to watch from the floor, maybe touch the ball once a night? Seriously, LeBron is going to need G20-like security when he goes back to Cleveland. You see the fans there burning his jersey??!! |

Personally, Kobe and Jordan are in a league of their own. They didn't need 2 other max players to help them win. I'd love to see Chris Paul or an equivalent go to the Lakers. Anything that will prevent those 3 boneheads from winning is fine by me... |

What a waste. Orlando and Toronto being in the same division are pretty much scratching their heads on what to do. This whole Free Agency not only tarnished LeBron and Chris, but also the NBA. |

I was very surprised. I totally expected him to stay at home. The ESPN show was absurd and unnecessary. He basically used the show to assert his ego, and in the process, stomped on the hearts and souls of Cleveland fans. I feel sorry for them. Pardon me for saying, but he unleashed a Cleveland Steamer on the city! That these 3 guys probably conspired to get together was pretty intricate. I hope they lack chemistry on the court and don't win anything. And I think Pat Riley will also push out Eric Spoelstra and become the coach. |

They brought championships to their cities, James needs to go to Wade to get him one. I've lost all respect for A-Bron. I give him that name because like A-Rod, he may be the most gifted played in his sport's history, but he couldn't deliver a championship the way the truly great have done. Perfect way to describe it. If any of you follow realgm.com, there's already a (presently) 9-page thread in the Cavaliers forum from fans of other teams! All giving their sympathies to Cavs fans for the way they got screwed over. I've never seen a player in any sport become such a universal villian the way James has. Outside of Miami, it seems the rest of the NBA fans hate him. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtop ... &t=1031379 |

Wow, check out this Open Letter from Cav's owner Dan Gilbert http://www.wkyc.com/news/local/story.as ... 6&catid=45 It appears that Lebron definitely screwed Cleveland over and did not do business in good faith. Not good. He will be villified. |

Not good. He will be villified. That has got to be fake... but if not, Dan Gilbert is my favourite sports owner ever! In case it is fake and is pulled from the site, here is is: Quote: Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier. This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment. Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us. The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you. There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you. You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal. You have given so much and deserve so much more. In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight: "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE" You can take it to the bank. If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels. Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there. Sorry, but that's simply not how it works. This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become. But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio. The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma. Just watch. Sleep well, Cleveland. Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day.... I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only: DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue.... Looks like it was a legit letter: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5365793 Quote: CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.
Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team's website shortly after James announced he plans to sign with Miami, tells The Associated Press late Thursday night that he feels "personally betrayed" by James and that it's "accountability time." In a phone interview with the AP, Gilbert says "people have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is." Gilbert says James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland. In the letter posted on the Cavaliers' website Gilbert called the process on James' free agency "narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment." Gilbert told Cavs' fans: "You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal." |

First off just to make it clear that as a kid I grew up a Laker fan and when Toronto got the Raps in 95 then I became a Rap fan first and Laker fan second. Needless to say I am in utter hysteria that I now see a large portion of the NBA fan world turn on Lebron and perhaps are now cheering for the Lakers!!! HAHAHAAHAHA ... yes 3peat all the way!!! Welcome to all Laker bandwagon jumpers!!! Now re the Miami crew. If you're an NBA fan and have ever bought a ticket to a game or watched a game on TV or somehow supported the league, you (me included) are whats caused this whole fanfare. Obviously as displayed by whats happend this past week the players are absolutely running this league to the detriment of some fans (Cavs fans especially) and the owners. It'll be interesting next year when the collective bargaining agreement is negotiated what happens cause something has to give. In my personal opinnion what I don't like about whats transpired is the over hype and fan fare and coldbloodedness that LBJ displayed with the build-up and that 1 hours ESPN announcement ... man and I thought Kobe was known as the Black Mamba ... that show and announcement was just murder for a Cav fan! Other than that I say good for those 3, for chasing after what "THEY" want. They were in their right as Unrestricted Free Agents to choose their destination. Their primary goal apparently, to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS they saw that this was best done together on one team. End of story. People ranting and complaining about this are because in their mind they built Lebron to be something he obviously doesn't want to be. He doesn't want to be the heir apparent to Jordan or to be know at this point at least as the greatest ever ... he simply wants to win CHAMPIONSHIPS. Good for him, Flash and CB4 (I mean CB1). Think of the long list of NBA stars that never won a championship and or tried to win a championship in the twilight of their career by joining forces then with other stars, to little to late (except in recent years for the Big 3). The stars alligned for these new "Three Kings" like it did for the Three Magi many many years ago this time it pointed to South Beach, Miami though ... LOL! Oh man wish the season began now ... GO LAKERS GO and maybe the Raps will get their someday too! |

I'm glad the raps got the 2 first rounders. Then make a trade for a large expiring contract. I hope they tank this year and get the 1st overall pick. |

GO LAKERS GO and maybe the Raps will get their someday too! I don't think you're wrong on any of your points, but in the case of Lebron, it's THE WAY he did things that angered a lot of people. I don't think he decided the morning of; these 3 "Kings" orchestrated this privately. What's worse is that he gave up in the playoffs against the Celtics knowing his contract was ending; there is no honour in that, in my opinion, and he should have been up-front sooner, and didn't need that ESPN show. I think even if he at least cried real tears, the Ohio people might have thought he genuinely wanted to stay, but rather, he always said "I" as in me, myself and I before he talked about Cavs and the fans. At least when Wayne Gretzky left Edmonton, that looked like real emotion, and there was more truth to Wayne at the time that he wanted to move "for his family." Did you guys see the spectacle in Miami yesterday where they came out on a podium as though it it was a concert? I totally want Kobe and company to spank the Heat. Hopefully Ron Artest will go insane and clothesline on of these 3 guys when they're in the air going for a dunk. |
