So Kadri just got called up. I guess it's safe to say that he'll officially turn into nothing and eventually be traded now.

Why call him up? The team stinks, he's not going to make it any better, he's only 19, and he's now got the weight of the hockey universe on his shoulders with pressure to produce for the Leafs.

Given our history of grooming home grown talent, it looks like he just got the kiss of death.

Hello neighbour.

I would have to agree with you. I think they are hitting the panick button too soon and shouldn't have called him up, but who knows, maybe he might provide a spark.

Very unfair for Kadri. I hope they don't just throw him under the bus.
This kid is talented. They should have kept him up there from the get go.

Hi neighbour,

I think this speaks volumes as to how rare it is that The Leafs are actually in possession of a first round draft pick. As soon as they have one, (which we never do, and seemingly never will again) they have to get rushed along as quick as possible to save the world.

Even if he provides a spark, who cares? We're not going anywhere this year, or next (or next). So let him grow and become what he's supposed to be.

Unless this young man is seriously head strong, he's going to be ruined here.

Take a look at this list of leaf draft picks over the years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_To ... raft_picks

You have to go back to 1990 to find a high round Leaf draft pick that actually made an impact on the team with Felix Potivn, and god love him (thank you for 92 and 93), he was not much more than a bit of a flash in the pan.

Everyone else has either been traded, or done absolutely nothing.

Kaberle was an accident.

20 years.

20.

Years.

Kadri does not stand a chance.
