http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/ar ... mpire?bn=1 This is big news. Good in ways and bad in others. It is in Rogers best interest for the teams to be winners in order to draw more viewers but what are we in for next? With everyone calling it a step to shut the door ahead of the competition, is the monopoly good or bad for us sports fans? Your opinion? |

Last night on Final Jeopardy the category was sports. In action since 1917, this sports franchise is now largely owned by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. Who are the Toronto Maple Leafs? Hmmm....odd. The two guys got it right, and the girl....well, she tried. At least she took a shot and said the Blue Jays. |

I would love to hear the teachers dump it. It's a cash cow for now, but for how long?? Take your investment win, and move it into something else. Long term, will the FC and Raptors make money? Will the Leafs = ATM continue endlessly? DUMP it, I say - that's my wife's pension and it'd be GREAT if they took the investment WIN as it stands today. |
