The Maple Leafs cashed in on 2 Ws early on in the season beating the Canadiens 3-2 and the Senators 5-1.

I am in total belief that this year we'll be in for some added fun and some playoff games. Fingers crossed.

Looks good compared to last years start. Last season, it wasn't until 14 games in before we got our 2nd win!

GO LEAFS GO!

I like how the power play actually LOOKS like a power play this year. Time spent in the offensive zone for a change. Kaberle taking shots and doing it from "new" spots on the ice. It's by no means great yet, but it's better.
Penalty kill looks awesome so far.
Lots of jump and energy too.
I hope they can keep it up and not burn out.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The Leaf's do look significantly like a different team this year - I'm VERY happy about that, but it's not like they've been building momentum for some years, this is the first in a long time (17 years) that we've seen something like this from them.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more then to have them finish strong - I just don't want to get overly confident. Slow and steady, one game at a time...

They have always been bad except that one streak in 50s I think it was

Won Division Title 9 times 11%

Out of Playoffs 22 times 27%
Lost First Round 25 times 31%

Lost Second Round 11 times 13%
Lost Third Round 5 times 6%

Lost Finals 8 times 10%
Won Finals 11 times 13%

The numbers are even worse when you remember in old days how easy it was to even make it to finals, often finishing second place in regular season guaranteed a Stanley Cup game when there were 6 or fewer teams in league (a couple years only had 3 teams even, how hard is it to get a shot at cup then lol)
