Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have the frameless glass shower door (door only, no side panels) done by Mattamy? We'd like to know if it's open to the ceiling. The framed door one seems to have a bulk head on top. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers
CSM

Thank you so much Ravi for your response!!

We were hoping that it is open. :D :D :D We already had a quote to get it done after.....but now we will get it from Mattamy even though it almost cost twice as much. But the opening makes it all worth it to us.

When you have time could you post or pm me a picture please!

Cheers

This is gear to those that have the glass shower.

Is it easy to keep clean?
I love the look of the glass shower but I an afraid of the maintenance. I only clean my shower once a week. I do not want to have to wipe down my shower after every shower or worse clean it everyday. Does the glass shower look clean enough if only cleaned weekly?

You do need to wipe it down after each shower, otherwise it does look pretty bad as the spots will dry all over it.

We use a squeegee on ours ... but at least it's a reason to do a few morning deep-knee bends for exercise. ;)

In our new Juneberry we won't get the glass shower. Partly because I'm kind of tired of the maintenance, but also because of the Juneberry's layout. If the ensuite was such that the shower was an integral focal point then it would be worth it. But in the Juneberry the shower is in a separate area with just a toilet butting up against it. Not much point of opening that up, so IMO it's not worth the upgrade cost nor the extra cleaning work. So we'll spend our upgrade money on something else.

Thank you, that's what I wanted to know and your right the shower in the Junberry is kinda hidden anyways.
That's one of the things that I do not like about the Juneberry, the toilet so close to the shower. I am going to ask them if they can delete the closet in bedroom next to it (I do not need this closet). This will give extra counter space for double sinks. And then they can move the toilet and turn it against the wall facing the shower. I hope they let me do that.

How much did this shower door cost??

Could be $475-3000 roughly and it sometimes depends on your model.

For the clear frameless shwer door that swings in and out of the shower we just got quoted $1224.00.

Not sure if thats a decent price, but I really love the look of it and I think it might be too complicated to add later... does anyone how hard it would be to add later?
