Sample on the right looks better in my opinion (very close match to the stairs).

I prefer the oak as it matches, the tigerwood looks like in a large area it would look "busy".

Great choice with the Oak sample. One idea is you may consider installing on an angle, or with an inlay design to break it up a bit if you're covering a lot of area.

Good luck with the upgrade - it's one that I always recommend. Would love to see the finished product!
