As I am Sam says, absolutely DO NOT have Mattamy install your gas line for the stove.

But DO have Mattamy install a standard outlet on a separate circuit behind the oven. You can of course install the outlet after the fact as well but for what Mattamy charges I think it makes more sense to just have it done for when you move in.

It is two appointments. I don’t know how they call them, if they are two structural or only one of them. The only one thing I know for sure, they have very detailed description at design center for each of these two appointments.
Our first one was rescheduled three times and it is going to be tomorrow for first one. We have to decide if we need rough-in for basement, bigger windows in the bsmt and so on.
They don’t have exact price list, it was not available last weekend. I hate to buy anything without exact price. I don’t know how good is Mattamy as builder in general. But for this structural things they are getting –10 for 0 to 10 scale. At this fist structural meeting we have to say what to do with over-stove fan. So, if you don’t needed it, they will charge about 200 just for not installing it. Another thing is the home-to-garage door. I never seen any builder in the GTA charging even penny for it, but Mattamy is asking another 1300.

The home we are about to move from is built by Sundial. They charged us $1100 for the door to garage in 2002. My colleague bought from either H&R or Heathwood (can't recall) and she was charged for the door as well.

Don't sweat it kf095, you're in good and common company.

We are cool now for the garage door. Nice to know Mattamy has no exclusive for this.
Our current new house in Milton (not Mattamy) was getting this door for free.
