I've got to say that Friday afternoon I was driving through the new construction...(yes, Mara is looking great, I was being nosy, sorry Greg and Mark) as we are looking to move up to a 56 too.
I have got to say that EVERYTHING from Phase 1/2 that we were in until now has changed. The construction offices are identified and labeled with contact names and numbers, you can talk with your builders, they encourage you to check the progress of your homes as I see "Welcome to Phase 14" signs at every entrance over there, all of the now "standard" upgrades on the houses. And even from what I have been hearing on the board from people who have purchased recently, the WHOLE experience has changed. There is a serious movement towards customer service over and above what they did for us back then.
You should see my "ghetto" house with it's light fixtures, ugly mantle, etc. etc. The materials used were REALLY cheap compared with what a standard model has now. Granted, yes, the market has increased in price, etc. etc. however, you get what I mean. I guess you can count your blessings for what you have, but don't stress yourself worrying about what you don't.
If you were in other markets, resale, or even other builders, you cannot compare yourself with other clients at the same time, let alone houses purchased in other release/phases.
Let us all be lucky and thankful that we are able to purchase new houses and enjoy the building process as part of the experience, it could be something that we could not have at all.
