Agree on the frameless shower doors, they are simple and easy to have done afterwards and it's several hundred dollars cheaper. In addition to rrknight's source above there's also Koski Glass in town here and they do a great job.

I disagree on the closet sliders though, or perhaps it just depends on if you get lucky with the size of your closet. We changed out our upstairs hallway board sliders after closing and it was a huge hassle. The closet opening was 2" larger than what would fit standard sized doors, so we either had to special-order custom-sized doors at 1" each larger than the norm, or change the trim to be larger and therefore hold the standard doors in place afterwards. We chose the latter.

So we ordered the doors which come primed only, gave them two coats of paint (hassle), had the trim widened (hassle), and had someone hang the doors and have the hardware put on (hassle). We had a hard time finding a handyman who wanted to do it since it was a smallish job -- mind you that was at the end of 2009 when the Home Reno tax credit was still on so handymen were really busy then (big hassle!).

Also, be aware that you'll have the bottom piece that holds the sliders in place screwed down into your carpet, so if you aren't changing out your carpet to hardwood at the same time you'll be left with goofy looking holes in your carpeting once you change out the sliders. Not cool.

Bottom line -- if I were doing it again I'd have Mattamy do the double swing doors for sure.

+1, I would let mattamy do the closet upgrades. I did the same in my last house and got frameless mirrors after closing and OH MY GOD! It was the crappiest job I had to go through when mattamy's frame was not square. Had a hard time finding the right size and get it to work on the damn track. Never again.

I guess it's a different trade that does the shower door opening because ours was perfectly squared.
