I was wondering if anyone has opted to change the sliding door to your back yard to garden doors at the design centre and what the cost was? Thanks!

We purchased a Nobleton so the pricing might be different, but according to our design book, a double garden door costs $2,400 with transom & sidelights (no screen) or $2,600 with transom, sidelights & screen (1 fixed door and 1 operable door). Hope that helps!

Hi Kbuzu

We choose the double French doors with transom and sidelights without the screen and it was about 2400. Just remember that the doors open in the house and so you need to make sure that you are comfortable with the open door taking up space inside. Both our doors are operable and hinged on the outside but Mattamy will ask you to choose which side you want them to leave operable leaving the other side pinned at the top which can be unlatched to open.

FYI. Apparently when they have a screen, they are called Garden doors and there is only one door that’s operable with the other fixed. That’s what we were told.

I deliberated over this upgrade. :)

Good luck with your decision.
