We will post here on this thread our weekly goals for the week. Your goals can be pounds lost, inches lost, exercise goals, or any other personal goals to motivate you to become healthier. You can post how many pounds you wish to lose without your actual weight if you so desire, etc. whatever you are most comfortable with that will help you stay motivated.

Down one pound (barely) this week, haven't been doing great as I continue to deal with chronic medical issues that leave me unmotivated on the weight concern.

Hope everyone had a better week!

Another 2 lbs lost.

I had a couple of epiphanies last week. The main one being that I have to create healthy lifestyle habits. It took many years of bad habits to get to where I am now. I'm not going to be able to fix them all it over night. My general goal will be to slowly but surely develop good habits that will naturally lead to weight loss and then maintenance won't be an issue once I reach my ideal weight.

Another occurred to me when Strik3rr said he didn't want to eat out so he had to go grocery shopping. I had to go grocery shopping that day too, not so much to avoid getting take-out but to prevent my husband from doing the groceries. He always buy the worst junk! My control is at the grocery store. I won't buy bad food, but if it's already in the house I will eat it. No control once it's already purchased and home.

The final realization I came to is that I CANNOT, for whatever reason, seem to get to the gym. So, new plan. I'm going to do exercise at home. To make it easy to start, I'm just going to plan to do 15 minutes a day 5 days a week. Surely I can stick to THAT!

Anyway, (sorry for the essay) goals this week are:

1. Continue with 2L water per day.
2. Don't let DH shop.
3. 15 minutes of exercise, 5 days a week.

Current weight is N-3.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it can be difficult. How are you handling it?

@Nona - Congrats and thank you for the insight. I'm the same way with having no control over junk food when it's in the house. It's much easier not to buy it in the first place.

Hi Barley Man, mostly I handle it by trying my best not to have too many pity parties & by being a strong advocate for myself when it comes to medical care. :)

Realized I forgot to weigh in this week. I had been getting discouraged, especially that one week I remained the same. Then I thought about it. Hey, yesterday was a month since I started. I''ve lost 6 pounds...so that averages out to 1 1/2 a week. Not bad! :) I would be pleased if I lost another 3-5 over the next month. I must remember to drink more water though. Nona, I totally agree with you. I've just taken the "control" out of hubby's hands now too...no more grocery shopping for him. :)

Jessey, keep up the great work your doing fine!

I think I've reached a point where I should stop obsessing about weight. The effort exerted per pound lost is much higher now than it used to be so I'm not losing any weight in the week to week weigh in. I'll focus on the other aspects of health and do the weigh in on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.

To everyone else, congrats on your results. Please post and let us know your diet/exercise routine and what worked for you.

That's one reason why I no longer own a scale. I found I became obsessed with the fluctuations that occur normally from day to day (up a pound, down two, back up one...) It was seriously becoming detrimental to my sensse of self esteem so I, like yourself and more into being healthy. I judge my weight based on clothes fit. If they get snug then I better crack down and pay attention to what I put in my mouth...if they get a little looser, good for me :-)

Keep us posted, I have been plateau'd for awhile now ( -15lbs less than when I started). More aware of what's being eaten and nothing really new worth reporting.
