Don't forget the superb coffee you had at my house after work today. :D

LOL That was my treat for the day since I put sugar in it :-). After looking through my cupboards tonight and seeing there wasn't much to make I settled on 2 slices Ezikiel bread toasted with PB. I need to go grocery shopping :-(

I forgot to formally introduce you to my hamster today. Right now I'm sitting here sharing my dry Cinnamon Toast cereal with him while my husband shakes his head. :D
Promise me you'll go shopping and buy yourself some food woman. :P

So I had my five guys stuff today (super yummy!) but still only ate 85% of my points today..whoo hoo! I was going to have some pretzel crisps or kettle chips for a snack tonight while I watched big brother, but I had two pears and two peaches, a glass of water and sorted my pencil case instead :)

Nooooo! :) I'm a teacher....I have a pencil case at home :)

I'm the type of person that has little containers of "things" all over...so I sorted those yesterday. Got rid of some stuff that I don't use and put it back where it should go! :)

My pencil case, despite the fact that it's huge, wouldn't close cuz it had too much in it...however I knew half the pens/pencils in there didn't work....partly because my dog steals them and chews the ends :)

Now it closes. :) No lingo here....I can't sit and watch tv...especially Big Brother....and not do something else...I get too antsy :)

Today started off with a couple of plain rice crackers. heading back to work shortly but will likely have a foot-long ham sub on flat bread (heard that's better?) from subway after with lots of veggies and a lighter sauce. Think BBQ hamburgers are on the schedule for dinner tonight. And evenings will likely be the usual 1-2 bowls of cereal and bag of popcorn. Will likely workout later today at some point too for 60-90 mins and if im still alive perhaps a walk later.[/quote]

Strik3rr: Just wanted to tell you...I was on the subway website..and you can actually pick every individual thing on your sub and it tells you how many calories etc. The flatbread is worse than the regular bread! Go check it out...
http://www.freshenergy.com then you go to commit to fit and then nutrimeter. I think the flatbread is 2 more g of fat than the regular bread.

Soupy, take it easy, hope you feel better soon. I've been taking it easy as my joint pain is flaring up, always something.

I've had IBS issues for years and I was able to put it behind me through diet and exercise. I decided to cut out dairy and almost immediately the bloating and indigestion symptoms became manageable. Then I cut out all the processed / refined foods and sugars and finally I reduced my meat & fish intake to about 1-2 times every few weeks, I noticed my constipation went away and I lost 30 Lbs to boot. Now I eat mostly fruits / vegetables and starches and I haven't had any IBS symptoms for the last 5 months. I'm guessing in your case something you're having is causing your IBS to flare up. Try eliminating certain foods from your diet and see how you feel. I would start with the animal based foods first then the processed / refined foods.

My IBS is stupid! hahah....when I get stressed or anxious I get it in my stomach so that makes the IBS worse. However, the veggies and fruits are what does it to me...that's what makes it the worst for me. I went through almost two years where I was nauseaus all the time, and could only really eat chicken soup, chicken, bread and potatoes. I slowly went back to eating normal....I didn't eat anything fried for quite a while too. Now I am pretty much back to normal, but now that I am trying to eat better, it's kind of worse because of the veggies. I honestly think this is due to anxiety...and I had some cheese today so that probably made it worse as well. It's not fun because I can't really predict it..one day I eat something and I'm ok, the next day I eat it again and it kills me...it's very annoying.

My dinner tonight...some potatoes I cooked in the crock pot and ginger ale :)

Dr. Mcdougall's elimination diet may help you get the IBS under control.

http://www.drmcdougall.com/med_allergic.html

In general, if you cannot identify a definite organic cause for your health problem, then suspect that it might be due to an allergy, especially to one caused by something you're eating. Then search for the culprit. A dietary approach to managing food allergies is the safest and most sensible step you can take for testing and for treatment. Take symptom-controlling drugs only as a last resort.

The next step in identifying a food that might be the cause of your allergy is to follow an elimination diet. This diet allows you to eat the foods that are least likely to cause your allergic reaction. When you begin this diet, allow about one week in order to completely clear the body of foods that were eaten before starting the diet. By the end of this week, if their trouble was indeed due to their foods, most people will be relieved of symptoms. During the elimination period, all foods should be thoroughly cooked, because cooking alters the proteins in them, making them less likely to provoke allergic responses.

Foods to eat on an elimination diet:

Starches (all cooked), including:
brown rice
sweet potatoes
winter squash
taro (or poi)
tapioca rice flour
puffed rice

Most Green, Yellow, or Orange Vegetables (all cooked), including:
beets
beet greens
chard
summer squash
artichokes
celery
string beans
asparagus
spinach
lettuce

Fruits (all cooked), Most non-citrus including:
peaches
cranberries
apricots
papaya
plums
prunes
cherries

Condiments:
Salt only is allowed (if not restricted for other health reasons). (This means no salad dressings, mustard, lemon juice, vinegar, as well as other condiments.)

Beverages:
water

After a week on this kind of fare, your food allergies should have ended and you should be feeling well. If this is the case, then you should begin to add other foods to the diet, but only one at a time, to determine if any of them causes your allergic reactions. For testing purposes, each "new" food should be eaten in large amounts three times a day for two days.

If the food does not cause a reaction, you can conclude that it is nonallergenic. Most reactions occur within a few hours, but some do not show up for several days. Each food must be tested individually; do not introduce two new foods at once. When you do have an allergic reaction to a specific food, you must wait four to seven days before testing the next item. This interval gives you the time you need to clear your system of that allergy-causing food.
