Hi, I'd like carpet installed in a 12 * 14 room in the basement. So far I'm getting quotes of ~$700 and that's way beyond my budget. I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who does carpet installations and can help me out with something cheaper. I'm hoping for something in the $400 - $500 range. I just want the regular carpet, nothing fancy. Thanks. |

good berber carpet with a good underpad should run you about $3.50 square foot + tax....you room is about 180 sq ft....so would be about $650 ish + tax.,,,your quote is pretty good |

Thanks for the reply daler. I went to a bunch of places around town and got lots of quotes, Core Flooring in the Superstore plaza was best by far. The carpet installed with good quality underpadding including taxes came to $435. Now, it may not be amazing quality, but it's got all the bells and whistles of other carpets (stain resistance, warranty, etc). Even has multiple shades. I suggest checking out Core Flooring to anyone who wants good rates and very good/quick service. Thanks. |

We had Core Flooring carpet our basement when it was finished. Great staff, great service, great installers and the price was right! We would also recommend them! Daniel & Susan |
