The weather has been hot and so has the Lake Ontario fishing, lots of big fish being caught along the north shore and even right in front of Toronto and the CN Tower. King Salmon, coho salmon and rainbow trout ranging from 5 pounds all the way up to just shy of 30 pounds with lots of fish in the teens to 20 pound range.
Canada Day long weekend -
Spent the better part of the weekend with the family & friends but had a group of guys who insisted on getting out as this was the only day they could all get out together, so we hit Lake (Aweome) Ontario in search of some reel peel. Hit the water for 2pm and the action was non-stop till it was time to go in @ 8pm. All 3 of them caught their personal best biggest fish ever and took some good eats home for the oven, bbq and smoker.
July 7-8 Weekend
Had a father & son come up from Buffalo for an afternoon/eve trip saturday and a morning trip sunday. They both got bit by numerous salmon and even had to take turns a few times on the rod with salmon peeling out close to 500' of line!!!! Fighting these powerful fish can last as long as 45mins believe it or not, or it could take 5mins depending on the fish. Boated several fish in the mid to high 20's, the son caught his personal best once on saturday with a 24 pounder then again on sunday bettering that by 4 pounds putting a 28 pounder on the floor!
The 28 pound Lake Ontario water buffalo is what we like to say
