Hi all The Karen Shank Foundation is running a volleyball tournament on June 16 in Vaughan. Yes its a little far but they donated the facilities to help us raise money for the Eden Food Bank that runs out of Meadowvale and assists 200-300 families each month put food on the table. Last year we raised $6500 for Halton Women's Place and hope to top that this year in addition to raising a mini-van full of food and items needed by the shelter. All that good stuff and we get to play a fun day of volleyball. Most participants are from Halton and Peel For more details see http://www.karenshankfoundation.org/events/beach/ and we have several divisions to enter to allow different skills levels to play. We can assist you in finding a team to play with. If you don't play volleyball but would like to help us out some of the items the food bank needs are listed here http://edenfoodbank.org/help.html#food and can be dropped off at my house in HV. If you have a business and can help us out with individual or team prizes that would also be greatly appreciated. We are also soliciting for items for every participant . some ideas - toothbrush, pens, or little bags with your company info Thanks! |

Hello again It looks like we are going to have 1-2 teams going from Milton and still have lots of time to sign up. Skill is not required for the rec division, just a willingness to come out for a great cause and have some fun. Thanks Tim. If you have 4 or 5 players and need a few more let me know. I now have a few guys looking for a teams to play on. I also have two or three teams looking for one more girl if anyone is interested. Happy Monday all |

The first games will start up around 9am (some teams will start at 9:20 or 9:40) and will run well into the afternoon If you cannot make it until a little later I can try and arrange something Thanks for your interest

If anyone was thinking of playing I have some people who want to form a team but are short 1-2 players They are playing in the recreational division (the playing for fun division, a few teams have not played any volleyball) If you are interested in meeting some friendly people, enjoying the great weather coming up Saturday and helping a great local charity let me know by tomorrow morning. (the courts are in Vaughan, first game at 9:20 and you'll finish aronud 3 or 3:30) Thanks again for your time |
