Does anybody know the plan for Nipissing Road? Is there any plans to close the Thompson Road access?

THe business profile seems very mixed there...what type of business is planned for the future in that area?

Thanks

Lol, saw the title and that it was in the advertisements section and thought "wow, the town must really be getting desperate for cash if they've now gone from borrowing money from Mattamy to selling actual roads" :)

Personally I'm hoping they put a divider in there so that you can only make right turns from Nippissing to Thompson when they redo Thompson... but then put a big left turn lane and an advanced green on the Childs light.

Hi Greg & Steve
You can check out the zoning for Nipissing Road at milton.ca under the alpha list at zoning regulations and urban area maps. It is designated as a mixed commercial/office and residential area similar to the Main Street corridor for between 4 to 7 floors in some parts to take advantage of the proximity to the Go station.

The intersection of Nipissing and Thompson is to be lowered to meet with the underpass with sequenced traffic lights along with Childs Drive and the new Drew Circle which will be the entrance to the Loblaws Super Centre and GO station parking lot.

It should look similar to such areas as Trafalgar Road Go Station in Oakville and the Guelph Line & Fairview Street underpass in Burlington when completed.

The public meeting in Feburary addressed many of these issues including the need for walkways, landscaping and sound walls which staff and contractors are resolving.

Will keep you posted on any other information. (check general discussion page as well)
