DJ- we had our framewalk last week. We are fortunate to have no bulkheads in the kitchen. The builder told us that they do there best to avoid them, but sometimes they have to be there (either full or partial). We were told at the design centre that we would have partial bulkheads that we couldn't get deleted. I guess we were lucky.

thats good news then. i would assume Mattamy would have the same building team in our phase to build all the lucan corners. *fingers cross* we get the same luck with no bulkheads... curious though, does one have contact with the build team prior to framewalk to make that request?

I believe it will be the same crews working on the homes in our phase. We had no inside contacts. I'm sure or hope you won't get any bulkheads in your kitchen. Fingers crossed for you

Although it is the same contractor, the tradesmen will differ street to street and even house to house. I would contact the build team if you can.

But at the very least in your paperwork it mentions no bulkheads.

I think they are asking a little low price as far as i know the plan 5 corner in Wilmont are being sold on this price. This house is

1. First of all we are paying premium for phase 3 over wilmont.
2. Brand new whereas those are around 3 years old. never lived home.
3. 127 square feet bigger
4. Better lay out.

According to me they are just taking their cost after removing taxes and brokerage.
What do u guys think?

We were also told at the design center appointment that we cannot delete the kitchen bulkheads and for that reason we could not get the stacked uppers.
In case they don't create bulkheads will the cabinets be mounted higher or there will be an empty area above to gather grime and dust? If so I may be rooting for bulkheads.

[We went last week for a visit - here's a pic of Phase 17 development taken from Penson Crescent]

I was told that the space above will be empty and that the cabinets will not be raised.

With above cabinet lighting I am happy not to have bulkheads. At this point if your cofferee ceiling is framed you should be able to tell if your getting bulkheads.

Our homes were not wrapped in the blue sheets in Phase 3...is this only for winter builds?

SnS86- They used rigid foam instead of plywood. Supposed to make the home way more energy efficient. A lot of builders are going this route now.

I had no idea that this wasn't done in any of the previous phases.

I noticed the blue wrapping too and wondered why they didn't use it for phase 3.

I see other builders using this blue or pink wrapping but it was not used in phase 3. Now I am curious .

We got through four season:

American Standard 16 Seer High Efficient 2.0ton Silver Series SI model AC with winter cover

I would check with Mason at Nissan Air however he was good for our humidifier install.

Craig at Four Season Comfort Cooling has messaged me about the group purchase for 2015 closings. He should have prices up shortly, if anyone is interested. We likely will be going with them for our AC.
