fujizridw, I can completely relate. Thankfully mzzy was so kind to be ok with us peeking at their RF. We were prolly just as excited as they were too.

We took a deive through the 5A development of HVE today, there are several Ferns in the area. Etherington has 3 that I saw. Mars, I think we found the model you mentioned previously with the knee walls, I like it and am glad that we got to see one. Thanks for the tip.

Dball,
I am curious, when you went up to HVE to look at the homes yesterday, did you have any issues with the security guards stopping you from going in the homes?

I ask because i was up at the site on Saturday and one of them gave me a hard time because i was taking a picture of one of the homes on Dymott Ave that is the same model as mine. I didn't try to go in the home i was just standing in the middle of the street taking pictures of the house and the area.

Thanks for the replys. I guess I will just have to be a bit more sneaky in order to look at my house.

Maybe that is what I will have to do. Nice them up and smile. I admit I took offence to this particular security guard because i felt he was being rediculous. I was taking pictures in the middle of the street. Not causing any harm. I shouldn't have been so upset. They are looking after our homes and for that I am thankful.

No probs, dball...glad you got to see the house with the kneewalls. Did they have the columns up? If so, how did they look?

I am also curious to see an RF with the alternate kitchen layout or the vaulted ceilings in the MBR. If anyone has them or has seen them, lemme know or take pics (only if it's your home, though)!

mzzy, glad I could help! And thanks for being understanding with the traffic in your house. I think your house has turned everyone's RF dreams into reality. You must be soooooo excited. You've got only a few weeks to go...you can count the number of weeks until closing with one hand and in a couple days you'll be numbering the days with your fingers and toes!

We were at the site yesterday looking at our house and I think we saw your car at your house. We were with Chris' parents (it's become a our regular Sunday thing to check out our house with them). What's the 411 on your house? I think I read quickly that they haven't deleted the bullnose yet and they've already tiled and put trim? Yikes!

mzzy, you house is looking awesome! That's sooooooooooo exciting!

I really like the look of the deleted bullnose on the stairs. I wish we knew that was an option we could do...

We got the square newell post at the bottom of the staircase, but we didn't know that we could remove the bullnose (no one told us we could). That's another one to add to the list of "stuff they didn't tell us we could do". I swear, Mattamy should come up with a list of all the options that people can do. If not for this site, we wouldn't have known half the stuff that we know is out there.

Anyways, your house does look great! You're so lucky to be in your house before all the bad weather hits.

mzzy, your house looks quite gorgeous! Good choice of paint, tiles and stain on stairs. My wife and I were driving all over that area looking for your house and hoping to take a peek of it yesterday, but couldn't find it. I am pretty sure we were on Kelman court as well. Do you mind telling us what is the name of the tiles package and if it is standard. Thanks and all the best for your move into your beautiful new house.

Hi Fujizride,

Thanks for the pic of the RF with the kneewall and colums- it really changes the look of the family room! Hubby and i really like it- would you happen to know how much it would be to upgrade to this( we are not going to go with the fireplace, but almost definitely looking into the kneewalls and colums)? Just curious.
Also, do you know if this home had 9 ft or 8 ft ceilings and where it is located- maybe we will take a peek on our next sunday drive to Milton...

Thanks,
kandesmom

(We just bought our RF in late October 2008 , our closing is in May 2010 in phase 14C HV, 4 bedroom elevation B)

Hello kandesmom,

Well congrats and welcome to the RF community! If i am not mistaken, the house was on Etherington Way and Merkely Gate or Ockerman Lane. Heading north would be on your right side, 3 or 4 house in, and i'm pretty sure it was a red bricked, Elevation B. I believe it did have 9" ceilings.

Mars, another RF owner was nice enough to send me some upgrade pricing on the RF in her phase 15c earlier this year . If i am not mistaken, the knee wall and columns were close to or little over 2k. I not positive, i will have to double check it for you.
