Hi,

Was wondering if anybody has pictures of this? Thoughts on doing this? I'm not sure if this is a desing faux pas, or if it would be such a bad thing?

I would stick with oak. If you have oak stairs, stick with an oak hardwood floor and try to stain match the floor to the stairs as close as possible.

Just my two cents.

I have an oak staircase with Maple floors and I don't mind the way that it looks at all. I went with the same manufacturer and stain on both woods so there is only a very slight difference. I will try to post a pic later.
