Hi there,
We purchased a green brier, and we the fireplace is located between 2 large windows. We are planning to put our tv above the fireplace, however we dont know where we should have the wires go to, as we need to place our cable box, and dvd player somewhere.
Does anyone have any suggestions/ photos of what they have done with this issue??

thanks for the help!

Hey,

We had a similar setup - this photo shows how the builder dealt with it:

We have a conduit drop to the basement from above the fireplace and another one at the side -" this way we will be able to catch the wires down below and route them back up.

Muzee,

Can't it go diagonally from above the fireplace to underneath of Window, why hassle to take it down and bring it back up?

I dunno .. from the looks of it, that would be difficult. Anyways, the builder said that was the best/most convenient thing to do, so I said OK. :-)

I found mixed expressions on this forum, some folks have gotton away with only a conduit from fireplace to window some making U turn like yours. Will find out ours when time comes.

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone have any pictures of the room finished with furniture in place? I am having trouble figuring out which type of cabinets to place there/ window coverings..
I didn't want anything under the windows, but it seems I dont have many options.

thanks again

I don't know much about the layout of this house, but from the photo's, this is what I think I would do.

I would get the standard white fire place, and then hire someone to build in two unit/cabinets. One under each window, then maybe get him to do sort some wainscot/trim work done to link the cabinets to the fireplace, making it look like one unit consuming the entire wall.

Something like photo but the doors would be glass to hold your cable box and other stuff, only link them to the fireplace cause I think the room may be too small to make them feel like separate units. Maybe wainscot all the walls in the space.
