Our move went well overall.

We only have 3 outstanding issues:

1) Our furnace fan won't turn on. We've checked just about everything before calling it quits and just calling Mattamy, they are coming to have a look at it on thursday. Thankfully the house is quite cool with all the windows open, hitting a high of 78 on monday when we had 10 people in the house.

2) No phone/internet/tv ... Bell let us down when they didn't show up or even call on thursday. When I called to find out what the deal was they didn't know what happened and said they would have a manager call me back. No call back, so when I called again the best they could do is reschedule. Then they threw 200 bucks at us (barely equal to 1 month free) when I called to cancel I kind of laughed at them. So going with Cogeco, which I heard is pretty bad as well, but we'll give them a chance. Who knows when we'll have these services. Good thing about no internet or tv is all the little things around the house are getting done promptly!

3) Our dinning room table/chairs weren't finished on time so we've been eating at our breakfast bar in our computer chairs. Which is kind of interesting.

I had quite a hard time getting our washer to stop 'walking' across the floor. I spend many hours working on leveling it just right, and it's perfect right now ... believe me. But when I went back to the installation instructions and reread some vague steps referring to 'shipping bolts' I reread it a few times and thought, well maybe I'm suppose to completely remove them, which I was and totally solved the problem. But man, the instructions really made it look like you were to just loosen the bolts in order to free up the electrical cord and not to completely remove them. Silly samsung!

Anyone else have any fun adventures?

Yup, I had to kindly ask the foreman to drop the line that was across my driveway this morning so I could get out. Apparently they knocked on doors, but I must have been in the shower.

They were just finishing the last section of the 'line' as I disturbed them. So the curbs should have been poured very early this morning. Not sure how long concrete takes to cure in this kind of humidity, so I can't even guess whether or not we can drive over that curb lip.

I'm hoping so!

Hey guys, we're on 82 Van Fleet (159R) and noticed that our lot is the only lot on the street without a foundation  . If anyone notices that our foundation is being filled, could you please update me on this thread. I would really appreciate it. I was there yesterday and our street was really busy with construction crew, which is a good sign but still no foundation for us. Its really good to see that our street is coming along nicely! Thanks everyone! 8)

jeger,

Is that your Mustang that you have on the driveway?

Our lot is currently being used for all the construction garbage pushed from the beginning of the crescent. I was hoping that they would finish most of the house before winter. Oh well... wishful thinking.

So question for anyone out there. When I bought my townhouse I got the 3 applicances that came with it. I know they come from the Brick. My fridge is making an annoying noise when it kicks on each time. If I hold the side of the fridge it stops...kind of. It's a high pitched vibrating noise. Not sure who to call. I called the Mattamy warranty office but no return call yet. I need to get it looked at... Any ideas of who I need to contact? Fridgidare? The Brick? Mattamy again?

OH yeah...it would be nice if they finished our curb so we could park in our driveways again. :)

Thanks...

I would start with Fridgidare personally. Not necessarily to get it fixed, but mostly because they know their products better then the brick and might give you a quick answer, even if it is "contact your retailer for exchange."

Looks like they dumped some gravel on our driveways to fill in part of the gap then came by later to dump some asphalt on the street side. So at least we can get into our driveways again!

TransGlobal is the company to call for warranty issues on appliances purchased from the Brick...1-800-360-2742.

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a good move and are enjoying their new homes.
Our driveway gap still needs to be filled, but we had people in yesterday fixing our walls and floors - YAY!!. We also had the Canac person in basically to see the crappy cabinet job we have. Is it ok to be annoyed that he wants to re-finish the ones with the scratches - I want them replaced, and who do I voice this to? Maybe I'm being anal, but really every cabinet in our house has a scratch, and or the handles are not aligned. When the Mattamy warranty came in, they laughed at our kitchen cabinets (not a good sign). And that was mny mini vent for the day - thanks guys for listening.

PS - Hi Munns, how's the house coming along?

*sigh*...that would be us.
Note to self - NEVER get my brother to set up my wireless again. He thought it would be funny, I told him to change it, only to find out he kept it.
I'm glad you got a laugh.

Hahah, don't sweat it. Nothing to be ashamed about ;)

You're brother did a fine job from what I see. Actually looks like everyone I can see is rocking some form of encryption. Good to see!

I see a couple of bell routers, one is probably kbradt :P

No, I'm pretty sure both bell routers were encrypted, so no one was stealing anyones bandwidth ... or giving it away for free. ;)
