I don't know but they have been ticketing like crazy on Hutchinson just off Yates. The spot that really bugs be is on the east corner of yates and hutchinson on yates. Cars park there and create a huge blind spot for anyone turning onto yates toward thompson. Had a few close calls.

The same is going on in HVE with people parking on Scott Blvd...actually on ALL streets. I'm not sure why when expecially the towns have a 2 car garage...

The problem is you have a handful of residents who for reasons I cannot comprehend, park their vehicles on the street despite empty garages and driveways.

Then, those who do utilize their driveways and garages, have no place for their guests/visitors. So they begin parking on the street to leave their driveways for their guests.

It becomes a vicious circle.

Yep, they've been ticketing like mad in Phase 13/Barr St/Beaty Trail area too.

interesting, we haven't seen any parking control on our street, but we have the same neighbour who puts his car in front of our house on a daily basis while his driveway remains empty. we have spoken to parking control, and they told us they only monitor it for 2 weeks after they get a complaint...so if you're going to complain, you need to call every 2 weeks! hopefully something will change if enough people call.

I agree.. parking on Yates makes driving down that street annoying.. not to mention all the children that play at the ends of the boulevards unsupervised and dart out in front of the cars without looking.

You could just call the police station and report that they are parking there for longer than 3 hours. Police may step up patrols in that area when you call it in.

I think the police have more important things to do than monitor parking issues! Get real!

I don't understand why they cannot just ticket on site. I see cars parked the same spot over night and they might get 2 tickets a month if that. There should be a clause that after 5 tickets to the same car on the same street it should be able to get ticketed without the 3 hour limit.

Why people buy houses counting bathrooms and bedrooms but not parking spots is beyond me. And why the town does not change the requirements for 2 car parking per house to 3 is beyond me too.

I like that idea, but would alter it slightly: rather than a ticket, still give the three-hour rule, but after your fifth infraction, TOW the offending vehicle each subsequent time it is in violation of the parking rules.
