Hello everybody,

Anybody have any idea when garbage pick-up and recycling starts on Potts Terrace?

Running the garbage to a bin isn't so bad but I hate to be throwing out my recycling.

Thanks

Hi Jambel
Will check out with regional staff on Monday.
Usually the garbage and re-cycling contractors what at least 90% of the houses completed and occupied before starting pickups as it is difficult for the large trucks to access the street when there is still construction activity.

Hopefully will have you started in the next week or two depending on the construction in the area.

Thanks Colin,

I was speaking to a neighbor yesterday and they said that the garbage truck actually came down the street last week but nobody had anything out for pickup....
I put mine out this morning and am keeping my fingers crossed.
With any luck they have started already.

Yes both recycling and green bins are picked up weekly....regular garbage is every other week today being a NON garbage day.

Oops, forgot about this section of the board. Did anyone get their blue/green boxes from the town last week? Supposedly they were supposed to be delivered, but we definately didn't get anything.

Steve.

Haha, nope... Halton Waste asked me to ask the neighbors and if they weren't delivered they'd follow up with the contracter they hired to deliver them.

But now that you mention it, that does sound like something Hanif would do :)

I am on Potts, I got green garbage and 2 recycle bins. I think it was on Monday. When I checked the house on Tuesday they were in the garage. Don't know who put them there. :D
Potts is a very friendly street, the neighbors are very nice people. Kinda sad I am moving

You're moving already, justagirl? How come? Is it because you just can't stand Hanif? Cause we can get Michelle to keep him locked up in the house when she's not home...

Just to let you guy know Milton's Garbage Collection is very limited and sticky.

They will not pick up grass clippings even if they are in brown bags. They will tear open plastic bags that look like grass in it. They want you to mulch it or compost it.

I believe garbage pick up is every week and recycling bi-weekly.

They will only pick up your cardboard if you have the boxes disassembled and "tied" in small piles. If the piles are a little to large they will actually leave it there. Very picky garbage pick up.

Thats absolutely retarded

there's always glass in my garbage.
they can deal with it or have it thrown at them

we are under NO legal obligation to absolutely participate and abide by the their program.

everything goes in the black/green garbage bags in my house. With no intent on changing it.

We are under the 6 bag biweekly limit so really makes no difference.

Maybe if there was a CASH incentive to participate in the bluebox or green cart programs it would be worth the effort.

Hi justagirl

For your and everyone else's information Halton's waste management program is garbage pick up every second week with a six bag limit and blue and green bin pick up every week. Check the calendar that was dropped off to your house with the green bin forh the details and pick up dates. If you do not have one pm. me and I can drop one off to you or check halton.ca under waste management.

Grass clippings as any gardener can tell you, should be left on the lawn to compost and improve the soil of you property and not put into garbage or green bins.

The next planning and public works meeting has a report for the 2009 waste management program and is recommending more bulk waste pickups in new urban Milton areas and also working out ways to improve the handling of diapers and pet waste. (more information when approved by Council)

Stacey Gibbs from Halton Waste was following up with the contracted delivery people to make sure we got them, but she's on holidays this week and said someone else in the office would have them email us with a new delivery date...

Haven't heard boo from their office yet though.
