How often do you use your Blue and Green bins?
Weekly- They're overflowing on pick up day 79%  79%  [ 15 ]
Weekly- There are a few items in the bins by pick up day 21%  21%  [ 4 ]
Once a month 0%  0%  [ 0 ]
Never 0%  0%  [ 0 ]

Check halton.ca for the Chairman's column and details on current recycling and composting programs. The region has increased waste diversion from about 43% to nearly 65% thanks to the many residents in Milton and Halton using their weekly blue box and green carts. The region is working on improving that figure to nearly 75% with the introduction of new programs and expansion of the services in the near future.

Now that you have to rent garbage bins in Toronto, a lot of people are just dumping their garbage in alley ways where private companies need to be called in to clean it up. I wonder how much of this reduction is simply a result of illegal dumping?
