  that was brilliant... i laughed out loud!

and canadian tire seems to agree with alamshahid:

my mother is a wedding decorator and she uses the tiny white lights and "icicle" lights for weddings all the time.. so there's another reason a neighbour may have them turned on outside of the traditional holiday season.

life is too short to get upset about these things IMO :D

That's easy: Hang them up on your holiday! And then call them your holiday ie: Islam lights.

I hang the small white lights and icicles up at my Christmas, and call them Christmas lights. I also buy the round tube lights, that I hang along my patio in the summer time and I call them patio lights. I also use the tube lights in my kitchen above my upper cabinets, behind my cabinet crown molding (close to the ceiling), I call them cheap valance lighting LOL

It's your home, the people that come to visit you know you, they know who you are, and what you are celebrating. They will call your lights the appropriate name. :D :D :D

Lights is light it what you make out of them.

What are the holidays that take place during this time.

I know of

Christmas
Hanukkah
Chinese New Year
Drunk Fridays
Naked Saturdays
Family Day

Any others that happen from November to March?

Remembrance day (less of a call for lights then most) and St. Patrick's Day (the day in which all folk of any creed or colour suddenly discovery some Irish Catholic buried deep in their family tree, and then attempt to drink it out.)
