I'd sit by the mailbox tomorrow if I could... Still nothing here, but judging by everyone else I figure it's in the mail. We're probably the only ones that would actually welcome the delay. With our wedding, honeymoon and upgrades going overbudget...for us this would be a good thing (focusing on the positive as much as we would like to get into our own place) Alas no news yet.

My guess is that with the slowdown in the economy, construction industry Mattamy has made the decision to spread the work out evenly over the entire year so they don't have peaks and valleys and run out of work at times. It makes good business cycle sense but not so great for the customer service side.

Wow. That's a lot of delays for a lot of Vista homeowners. I'm thinking that sooner or later we will get that notice too.

Did anyone call Mattamy about the delays for more details? It is strange that some people are delayed a few weeks while others are almost 4 months. Yikes!

Let us know what you find out. I wonder if it's all of Vista due to some land development issues???????
What is up with that?

At least all the newly weds will be happy, it seems......
AH Ha, there is a bright side to the delays for a few.

Gill & Will,
Lori and Dean posted that they are delayed. They are Lot 84 on Nunn Court. Delayed from Sept close to a Nov 2009 closing date.

What lot are you? It seems there are people delayed on Savoline, Pringle, Leitch Landing, and Wettlaufer. It's all over the place.

Hope this helps.

We are also delayed from Sep 09 to Nov 09. We are on pringle ave

Ughhh okay so i've updated the list of delays- I think I have them all now and I've added onto the list kosh, uplander1A and GillWill.

SDF- uplander1A is on lot 115 on Pringle...

GillWill- Nice to see someone else on Nunn Court! What lot are you on? and what elevation of Aspen did you purchase? :D

Anyone that emails/calls Amanda and gets a response please keep us all posted on what she has to say.

I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before we all get the dreaded letter.... :(

Thanks for the response SDF! I'm glad that you received a response. Can you pass along her # to me? I want to call and find out if we're being delayed or not. I think we are already the fire house on my side of street so i'm curious to see if we will be delayed or not.

I wonder if Colin B. would have any information regarding this land development issue. :?:

Hi Buttafly,
I did send Colin B. a message asking about the sudden delays in Vista. I am sure he will respond soon. He is very good at keeping us all informed.

Plus, I asked about the delays in the HV General area so there's a thread there. You can see what other people think is/maybe causing the delays.

Good luck. I hope all works out for you.

We haven't gotten our "official" letter yet but I did talk to Amanda and we are delayed until November 20th.

I think this is the lengthiest delay yet- but we're okay with it. But I don't want it any longer than that.

No, I was just told that it was sent out to our current address.
sorry...not much help but I can let you know when who do receive it.

Also- we were just informed that we get a credit of $401 for our kitchen package.

Cookiepaws:

So I guess you're wish came true. You are delayed! More time to enjoy the wedding, honeymoon, and more time to save for the new house. This means you can get more upgrades now.

Buttafly: Since you asked, GillWill is Lot 55 on Nunn Court. Yes, slowly more neighbours are getting on this site!

Busguy:

Did you get delayed? You said you received a registered letter and you thought it would be the delay notice. Was it?
I am trying to figure out how many Wettlaufer Terrace homes have been delayed to new closing dates. There are a few out there.

We were told that our house is at a firebreak/firewall and therefore we are closing in February 2010. I wonder if that's still the case.

Hi Satmatrix,

Sorry, but I think you may be delayed if you are a firewall home they are always the last to be built. If your neighbors are delayed, I think this would mean you will be too.
The plus side is when you move in, all the streets will be cleaned up and everyone's homes including yours will have green grass.

BTW I received a register letter notice in the mail, I have not picked it up yet but, I am sure it's from Mattamy.
For me it doesn't matter when I close, I wouldn't mind if we were delayed till March. January's too cold and get's dark too early, I have no energy around that time of year, just want to stay on the sofa wrapped in a blanket, flipping through home magazines. My spirit awakens by March. :D
