Hi everyone,
I was hoping that someone would be able to tell me what to expect at our structural appointment tomorrow.
I have been told that it is major things that cannot be changed afterwards but does it also include things such as lighting, outlets, doors etc?
Any information would be appreciated!

Hi StephandSean - you'll be looking at major changes - such as fireplace, moving of walls (if that's an option on your floorplan), alternate layouts etc. Hope that helps and have fun!

They will walk through your home with you and your upgrade list, they will bring a copy with them. From this list you will be lead through your home covering all your structural upgrades.

I believe your electrical will be completed for your structure appointment. It is a good idea to make sure your light switches are in good locations. Sometimes they put them in strange locations like far into the washroom, so you kinda feeling for the switch in the dark. Also keep in mind your floor vents, again sometimes these are placed in the strangest locations, especially the one near the front door, make sure it is moved over enough so you can place a winter floor matt down with out covering the vent.

Have fun, Oh ya, and bring a camera it is a good idea to take photo's of the walls and and the things inside them, this way in the future if you renovate or even want to hang something you have an idea of what is in the wall (like heating ducts and electrical wires, plumbing).

Hope this helps.

Opps, I see you went for your structural design appointment. For some reason I was thinking your frame walk! Sorry, I guess no need for the camera. LOL Ya, that ones an expensive one. A fun experience that you enjoy, and pay for many years.

Yes, for those who are attending the Mattamy U, please let us know how it went. Also, Let us know if they anticipate anymore delays in Vista?

If you meet any new neighbours from Wettlaufer Terrace, please tell them about the villager forum. I think a lot of people don't know that it does exist. Actually, we should advertise it

Have fun and enjoy it.

We also went to the site on Saturday, right before the heavy rainfall! It is amazing how many foundations are in and how many homes are framed already. It looks good.

We took some pictures and when we figure out how to post them here, we will.

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their congratulations on our baby girl- her name is Vivian and she's about 2 weeks old now. She's great and settling into our family quite well- her big brother is quite taken with her as we all are :D I'm going to update the list. Welcome to the new Vista folks who have joined in the last few weeks- i'll be adding you all to the list as well.

Small update on our home progress- we've had our first structural appt. with Agapi and will be having our second one the second week of May. She's great and very helpful with some awesome suggestions etc. I just wish the prices of the upgrades weren't quite so ridiculously expensive

Hope everyone is doing well- and for all of those who are going to Mattamy U tonight (Wednesday) have fun and let us know the details 8)

P.S. If I missed updating anything please let me know- sleep deprivation can be a horrible thing!

Any updates on how the Mattamy U session went? wink wink nudge nudge

We drove around the Vista subdivision this afternoon and I was shocked at the amount of progress that has taken place!! So many houses have foundations poured, are in the process of being built and there are quite a few that are even bricked! So exciting to see the neighbourhood coming together.

werkings and wildrose (my backyard neighbours) your foundations have been poured and look great!- not sure if you both knew that yet or not. :D
