we never got an invitation in the mail, but we emailed Kelly Spencer and she told us just to come... to confirm though, in the email she mentioned the address was 985 Syscon Road, at the Hilton Garden Inn. The address is actually 975, but is it held in a specific conference room? or a party room that we're supposed to go to?

I'm sure you'll see the signs once you get in there.... the invite doesn't list a room, and just in case anyone needs it, here's the map:

ps-> THANKS ANDREA!!!! for the pictures :)

Andrea, awsome pictures! exciting to see something finally happening now! although we didn't get that little thing in the mail from Mattamy that Rob had ... where they tell you it's a happy day or something, your home is being built...

in fact, I don't think we've had much if anything mailed to us from them, except for an ammendment in the contract..... :x

So here's what I took out of the Mattamy U thing last night for those of you that missed it:

Park will be done be August/September of this year (yay!!!)
One of the head builder guys is full of sh*t, he was asked about the cold first floors in the Main Streets/Village Homes. Said he's never heard of this problem...
Underpass at the railroad won't be done till 2016
No date for the 401 interchange at Tremaine (Boooo)
Mattamy said September 2010 for the public school but more on that in a bit
Catholic school 2012 I believe
2-3 years before another builder starts building across the park

My wife went to the PL Robertson orientation, they have NOTHING to say about the schools completion or before/after school programs.. Which is really disappointing. In the meantime they will be housing kids in portables at JM Deyenes. One more year of Peekaboo for our daughter I guess..

I have a copy of the slides from Kelly if anyone wants it.

Hey Rob, I didn't see you last night? or I'm sure I saw you, but didn't get a chance to meet you. There weren't many people there from our street. If you can send me those slides that would be great.

I agree, I think the overall experience was pretty brutal to be honest... and ya, my wife was snapping at the guy a bit when someone mentioned about the bannisters not being put up etc... that older guy (that denied knowing about the bottom floor being cold) was totally lying. This problem has been floating around with not only previous phases but locations in the east end too! hopefully it'll be fixed with ours... although we won't really know until it's really cold

Ohhh ya!! That was the other thing.. the stupid banister denial... The guy was absolutely right, they were closing houses without rails... And to deny it?!?!? Made me worried about wtf is going on with them...

Ya there was only a few of us there... I was the monstrous guy in the back with a pony tail and a sense of denial that the rest of my head has long since gone bald... drop me a line at rob@rsbmicro.com to let me know where to email the presentation to.

Hey Everyone!!!

Andrea - First off all hail the shutter bug queen Andrea ... thanks for climbing the Magurn hill although its not as much of a hill as it was a couple of weeks ago! Still thanks for taking the pics I'm sure we all really appreciate it!

Truthfully, we were also at the site earlier in the week but I still gotta figure out how to post pics!

L&P, Fit & Rob - Sorry didn't want to burst everyone's bubble re. the Mattamy U session but ya it was a pretty uneventful when we went too ... I've done some corporate training and I tell ya, you would think some of these ppl could be a little more enthusiastic!

Was the head builder person that was there Mr. Lumbers???

Re. the COLD FIRST FLOOR I specifically asked that question after to Mr. Lumbers and yes he gave me the run around, denied it was an issue, that you should expect the groundfloor to be cold just like a basement is.

Re. the village square yes heard the same thing! My daughter is sooooooo excited! We've taken her to play at the village square by Yates just so we can get an idea of what our village square will look like!

Have fun on Sunday .... we can't make it out there that day....

I'm so glad I didn't go, sounds like it was sort of a drag. Sorry to hear that they were giving you all the run around re: the cold first floor & banister. On the other hand I'm so happy to hear about the park to be completed August/September. Now I don't have to worry about my dog running around the house with muddy feet! Rob, I would love to have a copy of that presentation if possible. Do you still have my email address?

On it's way!

Hi Detacher's,

April and Joel it was great seeing you guys yesterday. Thank you for taking some of the boxes off my hands. I am glad someone can get use out of them. Those boxes have been around the block. I think you guys will be the third move for them. I got them from a coworker that moved last year.

Anyways, I have more boxes available if anyone is interested and I have some packing material that is great for packing your dishes. Pm me if you are interested.

Take care

Hey guys dunno if all of you have been reading this, but on the off chance you haven't, you should:

http://www.hawthornevillager.com/phpbb/ ... 3&start=90

it's regarding the first floors and a potential heating problem with them. I sent off a letter to Mattamy this morning basically informing them that I've heard there was a problem with the first floor, didn't appreciate the response we got at the Mattamy U and wouldn't accept that problem with my home. More or less to cover my ass in case it is a problem. Up to you of course but I would recommend doing the same just to make sure if this turns out to be a problem we have a leg to stand on.. Should hear back from them tomorrow, will let you know what they say.

Hi Magurn Detached Laner's,

I went up the Magurn hill this evening and I took pictures of all the lots that have some action going on.
Here is what I saw. These are in order from Lots 70 down to 63 and lots 71 to 78.

Lot 71

Thanks again Andrea for taking this pic but guess what realized today that this isn't our lot this is actually Lot 72! So this is actually Mike & Priscilla's lot!!!

Thought there was something weird when I looked at the foundation last week and thought hmmmmmmmm I don't think we have that long of a porch!

Rob - Who did you send the letter to specifically?

What I really don't understand with this is that HVE is not the only place where Mattamy has built Village/Mainstreet Town homes so there's gotta be more people complaining???

I sent it to Kelly Spencer (our customer service rep). If you go through that thread there's talk about one of the other communities and complaints from that as well... The whole thing is really weird, I mean they have to know people talk on the board, they clearly weren't impressed by mention of it at the Mattamy U thing, so why deny the problems?
