Hi

We want to widen our driveway with asphalt. Can someone please recommend a good company? Reasonable price, quality work, etc.

We'd like to get 3 quotes.

Thanks.

Sorry I forgot to add - if you could please include the price you were quoted that would help to understand how they charge (i.e. per sq. ft, etc).

And if anyone has pics of how they widened their single driveway with asphalt that would be great too. I know all homes are different, but I'm trying to picture how it will look since the widened part has to go up to the house.

Thanks!

Is it within City By -law to widen one's driveway ?

I only ask because I have a friend in Brampton who widened his driveway with stampted concrete. The following year the city ordered them to rip out the concrete as it violated code.

I came across this...

http://www.milton.ca/execserv/talk06jun.pdf

Read under the Section Called "Your House, Your Yard, Your Pets"

It says that you should get approval before widening your driveway more than 2 feet from your garage. It also gives a number to call. Worth looking into before hand as to avoid a situation like my buddy ran into.

Hi Rizwan

Yes, it is allowed in Milton now. They just passed a new by-law. But you do have to meet certain requirements with regards to the size of your front yard, etc. I called the Town and they gave me the info with regards to my house. They will explain all of the details about what you can and can't do. (i.e. you can't pave the section between the sidewalk and the curb, etc)
