Don't forget the part where Rob yelled at your sister thinking it was you ;-)

Congrats on moving in, April/Joel!

Question to you and all who already live there: who did you choose for your phone/internet/TV? any fabulous promotions out there?

We're using cogeco for tv/internet and voip.ms for phone (though that may require a little bit too much technical know how for the average consumer).... cogeco does a 3 month free thing, more info here:

Ya I was out talking to Joel and then this girl with a vaguely familiar voice starts yelling "Hi neighbour" to me from your deck... Couldn't see very well being it was dark and all ;-) Sooooo I started yelling back about how much of a slacker this person was for letting the boys do all the work while she was leisurely chatting it up on the deck, and that she should get to work.... Joel then goes "Hey by the way that's April's sister".... !! Oops.... *snort* ahahahahahaha I suck ;-)

argh.. I totally let this slide and haven't done much research on it either... Rob, did you not already have Cogeco at your old house and just ported that over? or you took advantage of the 3 month free promotion?

I wanted to go with Teksavvy for internet but I heard they don't service our street yet...

We ported over, will be calling them later this week, we've been told it goes to any new Mattamy home that wants to take advantage of it....

Good line of questions!

We have Vonage that we want to run through the house, but I understand we have to have a dedicate land line for the security system?

Anyone?

we opted out of their "free" system but my understanding is you can't use vonage you have to stick with Bell for it...

thanks guys! we'll see y'all shortly... it's crunch time now.... :)

I'm scared about our PDI... we have friends that live on Goutouski (street adjacent to Magurn Gate) and they had 3 pages full of problems after their PDI!

April/Joel, Rob/Jen, for the most part your PDI went ok? IF you had problems, I'm assuming they were relatively minor? was it fixed in a timely manner?

We had problems, like you will... don't stress about it.. it'll get worked out ;-)

Our stuff was relatively minor, they fixed some of it... some of it is still waiting to be fixed... Spoke to Lisa and Paul next door, theirs was all minor stuff as well, and I don't think April and Joel had anything too serious either.... again just don't let yourself get stressed about it.... seriously... enjoy the experience....

OK so add one small other issue to be aware of... we had a problem with our mail... they're mixing up Magurn Gate and Lane... even though the addresses are different... I went into the post office to find out what the hell was going on because we hadn't gotten any mail in 2 weeks (since we ordered the redirect)... they were holding onto our mail as if it was for 274 magurn gate... even though that address doesn't exist instead of forwarding it to our box.... also a couple of the utilities are mixing up the address as well... sure they'll eventually sort it out but just giving you guys a heads up to keep an eye on your mail....
